Countless Time

Chapter 15

I shuddered as the first signs of the transformation formed. My body twitched uncontrollably and my eyes watered.  I was so scared. My mind kept thinking of all the way things could go wrong. I shuddered at the thought of being stuck in the middle of my transformation. And shuddered again at the thought of not transforming at all. 

"Relax," whispered Alec rubbing my back as we walked down the trail to the forest. I nodded and rolled my shoulders back and forth. 

"Has any one ever gotten stuck in the middle of there transformation?" I asked my voice shaking. 

"Yup, " he said winking at me. I shuddered again. Not because of his answer but because of the shiver of pain that ran up my spine. I gasped and leaned into him. "You want me to carry you?" he asked supporting some of my weight.

"Is it gonna hurt," I asked in a hushed whisper. I heard him grunt and then sigh. Just great. "Don't answer hat," I said shaking my head. 

"It won't if you do it right,' he said" we're here," he added just as we entered a clearing in the forest. 

"What do we do now," I said rubbing my back trying to get rid of the pain. 

"We wait," he answered leaning against the tree. 

"Why?" I asked falling to ground loving the way the grass comforted me. 

"We have to wait for the moon," he said running his hand through his hair. "Probably gonna take a while." he said whistling. 

I sighed and closed my eyes. Hell. I swear if it took more than an hour I was gonna die. "You wanna a play a game?" I asked turning over and lying on my stomach and sighing as the cold grass rubbed against my flushed skin. 

"Sure." 

"It called truth," I gasped as I felt something burn up my thigh,I ignored it and went on." WE ak each other a question and have to answer truth fully, Kay? " I asked. He nodded "You go first then," and gasped as as my leg cramped. 

He was above me in seconds. Tingles went hrough me ."Will you ever forgive?" he asked looking into my eyes. I swallowed shrugged.

"My turn,' I whispered and looked away I straightened my already wrinkled shirt. 'Why did you leave?"

:Do you really want to know?" he asked scratching his head and sighing. I didn't. But deep inside I knew we had to go trough this at some point. "Lizzy. My girlfriend. I tough me and her would be forever. She thought that two. We had everything planned out. It was all going great. Untill she met her mate. That were it all went downhill."

"But you guy's all ready mated though. So how could the other guy claim her," I asked. I remember hat first night I felt him with her. It was hell. 

"I hadn't' marked her yet.  And how the hell do you know we'd all ready.. you know," he said  looking down a his feet. 

"WEll I did go through a heart attack the times you both did it. Didn't you parents ever tell you. When ever your mate sleeps with someone else. The one that's being cheated on goes through a helluva a lot of pain. It feels like a fucking hear attack. No pill can stop. Trust me I tried. The pills affected me after it was over," I said and stared at the sky that was changing from a reddish pink to a dark shade of blue. I still remember that first night. I was sitting there watching T.v with Danny guy's when all of a sudden my breath had been knocked out of me. My heart had stopped beating all together and then stated up again. It was contracting in on itself. It felt like it was tying to rip itself out my chest. Danny was fast top act and he called his mom. She took one look at me a new what was happening. I spent the whole night lying in Adam and Danny's room sobbing and wreathing in pain. The second Adam and Danny had gone to get there mom again I had walked into the bathroom and pulled out a bottle of aspirin.  I filled my hand with pills and shoved them in my mouth. They didn't help. They didn't affect me until it was over. And wen it as over I blacked out and woke up a week later in my room. 

"I'm sorry,' he whispered and sstarted pacing back and forth." It jus hat wo years ago, runninng away with Lizzy sounded like a greatt idea. It fel like nobody could get in he way. And ten bam. Right infront of me was the one man who could take her away from me. " he said sighing. "And en two day's ago I remembered you. It fel like you somehoe needed me. So I got ready o come here. An now here I am." he said gesturing to himself.

Two day's agao. Two day's ago was he only time he remembered me. Great. I was a rebound girl.I swallowed. 

'My turn,'he whisperd "Who were you talking to on the phone," he asked. 

"My best freind,'i answered. 

"Really,"he asked. sounding guilty.

'Why," I asked. You did something to him didn't you," I asked my fists clenched. 

" I .....Yes," he breathed out just as the moon showed itslef and a wave of pain tore through my spine.

"BYE," I whispered and ran as hard as I could in the opposite direction of Alec. He didn't come after me. Great. I didn't mean shit to him. WTf. Was he doing back here anyway's? Trying to screw ovde my fucking life. Woh the hell does her thhink he is messing around with a girl who has elements on her side. Oh yeah. I'm afraid to use them. I mentally shoock myself before I got near the river. I took of my pants and shirt and chucked my self in the river and los my self to the current. 

The whole way there not once did I go below the water. It calmed me and stoppped the burning under my skin.  I sighd as another mave splashed against my back and radiated relief. And then I felt the motoin of freefalling into air and then warmth. Something soli around me. Arms. I fought out of them and looked uo to see his black eye. "Kyle," I whipsered and flew ino his arms."I'm so  sorry. I's all my fault. I-I-I. I'm so so sorry.Is there anythign I can do to make up for this?" I gasped as another jolt of pain went  through my body. Causing me to collapse onto the ground.  I didn't hide it. Kyle new about what I was. He found out the summer I saved hinm from falling over the cliff.  

He fell to his knees beside me. "You're changing?" he asked rubbing my back. I nodded rubbed my aching arms. 

"I couldn't go through it wih... him. I'm just a rebound girl fro him. Nohing more. EH didn't even come after me when I jumped into the river." I said  I closed my eyes from the pain. "I'll see you tommorrow. I just needed to make sure you were in one peace." I added as I put my finger to his black eye and healed it. I felt him shiver then pull away. 

"Leave," I gasp out through my pain. 

"I can't," he say's is voice cracking. 

"Kyle. Get. Out. of. Here"I gasp  out through clenched teeth fighting back the wolf. "Now" 

I feel him stumble back a few step and relax when I feel him walk away.  I feel the bone in my arm break and cry out in pain as I hear a growl behind me. I few tears roll down my cheek as the bone at my elbow breaks followed my the one on top of my shoulder. I pair of familiar eyes float above mine. 

"I need you to breathe," he whispers putting his hand under my neck. "Alec's on his way." I nod and wince in pain as the something else in my body cracks. More tears flow down my cheeks as I try to see what it is. "Breathe," he repeats. I close my eyes and take in too breaths just as I feel another presence. Alec. 

"I'll take it from here," he say's gruffly and is on his knees beside  me. My heart speeds up. His arm slowly raps around my waist and lifts me up so I'm limply standing in his arms. He moved my arms around his neck forcing me to look into his eyes. "It'll hurt less the ,more we touch," he said pulling me closer to him. I breather in his familiar sen. I stiffened as he kissed my neck and slowly made his way up to my mouth. 

"AM I a rebound girl," I asked using all my energy to pull back. 

"No Sam. You're the real deal," and with that he kissed with me a passion so powerful i forgot he pain.  Another wave of pain hit me and with that my wolf took over. The world became clearer, louder  brighter and then black.
