"We didn't know when the Earth would heal, or if it would ever heal," I read.
I looked up from the book I had written oh so long ago and saw Eve fast asleep in her bed, her long blonde curls on her shoulder. Then I looked out the window and saw small white snowflakes falling in the twilight. Finally, I looked up at Charles who was standing beside me hand on my shoulder. Finally, I took a deep breath and read the last line.
"But there was one thing we did know, it was quite an adventure," I closed the book and Charles and I walked out.
