CHAPTER ELEVEN—IVY & SEBASTIAN
Ivy felt like shit. It wasn’t supposed to be this way. Kyla wasn’t supposed to find out. No one was. It was supposed to be a secret.
She hadn’t known that things would end up being this way. Unfortunately, she’d developed feelings along the way. Ivy didn’t mean for any of that to happen. She was usually able to keep her feelings out of relationships with the opposite sex, but there was something about Sebastian that she really liked.
Having sex with Sebastian had never been her intention. It was never part of her plan to break Sebastian’s heart.
They’d only been making out. Sebastian started feeling her up and they’d stripped down to their underclothes. They always did that, but it just made her want him so bad. He laughed, because he could feel how wet she was. He asked her if she wanted to, with that sexy grin of his, and who was she to decline? She was horny and he was offering. So she took the opportunity.
It was amazing. Of course it was. She could see why Kyla was so angry that he’d been toying with her. The sex was great. She not only lost him, but she lost the sex, too.
She hadn’t expected to do it again. But she couldn’t help herself. It was her guilty pleasure. She’d known that she should’ve told Kyla, but how could she?
Now that the truth was out, Kyla would probably never want to talk to her again. She’d tried texting her, but she saw that Kyla read the message without a reply. Ivy supposed that she deserved that, maybe more. She felt horrible about all of it.
She couldn’t face Kyla. Maybe she’d cut school tomorrow. There was no way that she could be there the same time as her. She saw Kyla’s face at the diner earlier that day. She couldn’t see that again. She’d betrayed her friend. Well, now they probably weren’t friends. She’d probably lost Kyla for good. And over a fucking boy!
She’d lost a friend because of Sebastian. If it hadn’t been for him, none of this would’ve ever happened. It was her fault, too. But she wished that Sebastian had never gone for her. If he hadn’t, then odds were that he would’ve stayed right where he was—with Kyla.
It wasn’t fair. Everything was ruined because of her stupid, selfish mistake. She should’ve told Kyla that she was starting to have feelings for Sebastian! It would be so much easier if you could make feeling disappear, just as if they were never there to begin with.
What was she supposed to do now? Not being with Sebastian wouldn’t change anything. Being with Sebastian would probably make things worse. She didn’t know what to do. Everything was just so . . . fucked up. And she had no idea where to go from here. And, for once, neither did Mina.
Ivy’s bedroom door opened, surprising her, and Shane walked in asking if she wanted a slice of cake. He frowned when he saw her and she realized that she’d been crying this whole time. He sat next to her on the bed and said, “Are you okay?”
Ivy shook her head. “No,” she whispered.
“Did you want that cake?”
Ivy nodded and Shane left, returning within a minute or two. He shut the door behind him and sat down, handing Ivy her piece of cake. They both ate their piece of cake in silence. Ivy finished her piece and dipped her finger in the leftover chocolate frosting.
Then she spoke. “I fucked up.”
“What happened? You’ve been locked up in here all day. You never do that.”
“You were right.”
“About what?” he asked, putting his plate on her nightstand.
“About using Sebastian for my freshman year revenge. It was about revenge, at first, but then . . .”
