CHAPTER 24 - RICHIE

Dear Reader, 

We’re famous. We did it. 

Sure, I’m not the face, but our fans love me anyway. Who wouldn’t love the attractive, shirtless drummer? After every show, I throw my shirt into the crowd. The girls love it. They scream every time.

I don’t regret the choices that I’ve made. I’m not going to lie and say that I should’ve went to high school and that I should’ve gone on to college after that. It’s not me.

I haven’t really been back to Page since I left. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like if I never met Rayna or the rest of the band. I’d probably be nowhere. But I’m somewhere now. 

Next time I go back to New York, I want to see everyone. Maybe Aubrey will be able to come, too. I wonder where she is. I don’t have her number anymore but maybe I can find her. I’ll see if she has Facebook or something.

Rayna, Sean, and I all live together. We got an apartment in Georgia. And the others don’t live too far away. None of us really have any family that we can count on. But that’s okay because we have each other. The band? We’re family. That’s my family right there. 

I don’t have a girlfriend or anything even though I could. It’s not that I don’t want to. It’s just that things have been busy and I haven’t really found anyone I’m attracted to. 

I’ve got a friend with benefits, though—Rayna. I don’t know if the rest of the band realizes that we’re sleeping together, but it’s obvious that we have something going on. She’ll sit on my lap in front of everyone or kiss me in public every now and then. I just smile. Maybe one day we can actually be something.

We just released an album. We’re skipping Warped Tour this year again. This summer we’re headlining the Red, Black, and Blue Tour with Capture the Crown. Chasing Safety and a new band called Differences are our guests. 

Even though we haven’t started anything yet, I’m really excited. Besides, I love the guys from Capture the Crown. They’re pretty chill. And Jeff’s Australian accent makes him really cool even though I don’t understand him if he talks too fast.

The band life is the life for me. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
