"he is not picking up the phone, i know that he is mad at me now," jacob said, pacing up and down, his phone in his hand and his eyes trained to it.

"don't sweat out so much, jay. he must be busy or he must be spending time somewhere else, it will be okay," dean tried to assure him.

"but no, you don't understand. i think something is wrong with him and that he is not safe." jacob said as he pulled at his hair in utter frustration and sat down on the bean bag.

"jay, calm down, please, you got a presentation tomorrow and you know your scholarship depends on it so please try to relax now and breathe properly," dean said.

"i cant," jacob mumbled, twirling his phone in his hands randomly.

"i need to see him and make sure he is alright, i need to-" jacob said, pacing up and down again as dean got up and placed his hand on jacob's shoulder, sitting him down on the bed.

"jacob, please breathe, in and out, calm down," dean said to him as jacob closed his eyes and tried to breathe but his guilt was just suffocating him and making him die slowly inside.

"I can't," jacob mumbled again, slowly opening his eyes and placing his hands on his face in despair. he was at such a loss. he hated the unsettling feeling in his stomach so much.

and even as he calmed down, all he could think about was troye.

"he needs to pick up the phone."
