Okay, so here it is. I won't bore you all, as I think there's plenty to read here (or at least it was on MS Word). A lot going on in this chapter, and still plenty more to come. We get to see a bit of the Crawford family and a little peak into Nina's past. Obviously, there will be more to come from them, but hopefully this will tide you over until I write more.

So, enjoy, and you know what to do (vote, comment etc).

It was Monday lunchtime, and I had decided to get some air, away from the general crowds of students. The weekend passed with little happening. I steered clear of my aunt and uncle, and it appeared they did the same with me. If I saw them, it was a passing moment, that lasted for a few minutes, which usually involved an exchange of money for pizza. Work at the bookstore was as usual, peaceful and calming, and it wasn't long until the new week began, bringing with it, drama, drama, and more drama.

Melissa kept droning on about some guy I didn't know, all the while throwing in comments about Alec every time he happened to walk past. The comments usually consisted of how 'hot' he was or how he worked that 'bad boy' charm of his. To say it was getting on my nerves would be an understatement. Which was why I was sitting outside, drawing away in my sketchbook.

"Morning, love," said a voice I had become accustomed to over the past few days. I looked up to see that Alec had sat down next to me on the bench, where I had sat down to finish a few sketches. Speak of the devil, and the devil shall appear.

"Don't call me love," I said through gritted teeth. I seemed to be doing that a lot lately. All due to him, of course.

"Yes dear," he replied. He had that annoying smile on his face. God, he irritated me!

"Would you stop with the terms of endearments?"

"Well, what would you prefer? Sweetheart, honey, sugar muffin?" I looked him directly in the face and I knew he was doing this to get a rise out of me. It seemed like his favourite thing to do was to annoy me until I exploded.

"Or maybe I'll just stick with Red. That seems to suit you best." He said, with his lips twitching ever so slightly. I could feel my face begin to brighten and I saw that his face split into a wide grin, as he chuckled at my unfortunate nature.

I turned back to my sketches, ignoring him completely. I wouldn't let him get to me. Even if he did seem to have an uncanny knack for pushing the right buttons. Or, wrong buttons, depending on whose views you're holding.

"Hey, come on. I'm just messing with you." I could feel him watching me, as I kept on drawing but I didn't acknowledge him. We stayed silent for a while; I kept on sketching away, whilst he kicked his feet on the gravel beneath his feet.

"Nina, are you not going to talk to me?" He asked. I still didn't say anything. Suddenly, the bell rang, so I picked up my bag and stood up to make my way back to class. I only walked a few steps when a hand grabbed my arm and pulled me back, causing me to turn and come face to face with Alec.

"I'm sorry okay. I won't call you things like honey, and dear, if they annoy you. Forgive me?" He said this last bit with the cutest puppy dog face ever. It was the type of face I just knew he used on more than one female. Even though this thought aggravated me, the face still worked. I wanted to forgive him. Damn, he was good. And from the smirk on his face, he knew it!

"I have to get class," I said, as I tried to turn away, but his hand held on firmly. I looked back at him and a look of seriousness passed over his face.

"Okay, but wait for me after school. I need to tell you something."

"Can't you tell me now?" I was curious. What would he tell me?
