October (2 Months Later)
"So you're just not going to tell him?!" I ask Leah as we both rush around, tidying the dorm. "No Ellie, I'm not. And I'm pretty sure it's my decision if I want to or not." "You just told me yesterday that you were going to tell him. We decided this. It's the right thing to do, Leah!" "Don't bitch at me about this now, Ellie, I'm really" -knock knock- "I swear to god Leah if you don't tell him!" "Hi!" I smile, answering the door.
Earlier That Week
"Ells, relax. It's just a party." Leah says, fixing her hair in the mirror.
"Fine, I'm just making sure you don't do anything stupid."
"Why would I? Phil and I are doing really well" she says giddily.
"Wait I wasn't talking about Phil, I just meant in general... everything okay?"
"Um, yeah. Am I not allowed to go to parties now just because you have to study?"
"Nope, not what I meant. Okay I don't have time for this, I'm going to Jess's so I'll probably just crash there."
"Are you sure you don't want to come? I mean it's one test and this party is gonna be amazing!" "Nah, I really need to pass this class or I have to retake it. Have fun though"
"You too." she says a bit sarcastically.
So this college thing wasn't going as badly as I anticipated. I mean I'm struggling with one class, but barely. I've got Leah. Leah's got Phil and I've got Dan. The long distance thing has been hard, but working well. It just sucked not being able to lie next to him, hug him, kiss him, all the physical stuff. Jess was my friend from the journalism class I was taking, and we've actually become pretty close. You'd think a journalism class would be easy but there was a lot of basics that I just couldn't seem to learn. Lucky for me Jess's mom works for a magazine company, so she knows the ins and outs.
Dan
I sleep in as late as I possibly can, as Phil had me awake until 4 AM playing Skyrim. I have to take a thirty minute tube ride to get to work everyday, but I suppose it's worth it. I ended up getting a job at the BBC, which is a radio station, with my older brother, Nick. Although I have to admit it was kind of a pity thing. I don't have a college degree or anything and I was struggling to find a job, so Nick pulled some strings for me. I'm an assistant for now, but it's a job and it pays money so I'm not complaining. It also works out because on the ride to work everyday, I call Ellie because the timing matches up perfectly.
"Hello?"
"Hey Ells, whatcha up to?"
"I'm on my way to Jess's to study for this huge test I've got tomorrow."
"Journalism?"
"Yeah. I mean I can write a perfectly good article, don't get me wrong. It's just the basics I cant get down."
"You'll do fine, love, just don't stress yourself out too much. And I'll see you in a week now!"
"I know, I'm so excited! I miss you way too much. And I can't believe Phil is coming too!"
"I miss you too, so much. But I guess him and Leah are really hitting it off. He's always telling me how he really likes her."
"Yeah, I still can't believe he's coming, its gonna be such an amazing surprise for her! I'm happy for them. And Phil is doing well still?"
"Yes, he seems to be a lot better lately, which is relieving. I still can't believe he has a real office job."
"I know, I can't imagine him wearing a suit everyday. How's your job going?"
