We had continued to chat after that, but our lighthearted conversation had ended. The following hour had turned into a sobbing fest as we both cracked and talked about our issues. By the end of the night, Yukio had promised to move back into my - sorry, our room. Then, he stood up and gave me a solemn look;
"Give me your lighter, Rin." He stated, holding his hand out. I paused for a moment, the idea making me slightly uncomfortable. He noticed my distress, "I'll give you my razors if you give me your light. An eye for an eye, alright?"
I swallowed, "normally, when people use that expression, it's a bad thing." However, I stood from the bed anyway. I walked out of his room and into mine, and he followed close behind. I picked the lighter off the floor where I had left it and turned to give it to him. I felt slightly unnerved as I handed it over, but I kept telling myself that it was for the best. I looked up at him but he didn't seem satisfied.
"Where are your cigarettes?"
Oh, I walked over to the desk and pulled out the bottom drawer. I grabbed the pack out and tossed it to him, there were only two or three left in there anyway. Then, it was my turn to look expectant, "give me the razors, and don't hide any." He looked slightly offended that I would suggest such a thing, but he turned and we made our way back to his room, where we entered the bathroom and he picked up the spilled box of razors. He handed them over and I stared at him, he raised an eyebrow but realization flashed in his eyes and he walked over to the shower to retrieve the bloodied tool from the floor.
We had then moved all of his stuff back into our room before crashing. He had school in the morning so he was going to need some good sleep. I, however, was gonna be alone all day, again. That fact was very apparent when I opened my sleepy eyes the following morning. I rubbed my face and stretched, my back popping in a few areas. I sighed and then smiled when I saw the opposite side of the room.
The usually clean area now looked lived in, Yukio's stuff strewn along the nightstand and inside the closet. It felt good knowing that I wasn't alone anymore, and I was happy that I was able to help Yukio too. There would be no more wallowing in self pity, I chuckled, no, we would wallow together if anything.
I got up and got dressed, putting on a t-shirt and sweats. Running my hands through my messy hair, I tried to decide what I'd do for the rest of the day. I had another eight hours before cram school would finish, and Yukio didn't say anything about a mission. He should be home sometime after six in the afternoon, but what I would do until then was the question.
I sighed and entered the bathroom, brushing my teeth and fixing my appearance. At times like this, I wished we had a pet or something, my days were quite lonely with no one around. Maybe I could convince Yukio to get a cat, that was a good idea. My tail flicked behind me and I sighed, it would've been cool to have a familiar, but I'm not skilled enough to be a tamer.
I returned to the bedroom and grabbed my phone from my back pocket. I noticed a text from Satoshi and I tensed; We should talk
I tapped my foot against the floor and bit my lip, uh oh; okay? What do you wanna talk about?
He didn't answer right away, I knew he was in class, so it would be awhile. I wonder why he couldn't just call me after school. My brain started to think about my options; I really shouldn't involve myself with him anymore, and I should cut all ties with the group, but then again... he could help me. Ugh, why did life throw such questions at me? I guess I'll just have to fill my time before he texts me back.
