For the wine mom in me
"Yikes. Zhat doesn't look too good." Gilbert inspected Matthew's ankle when he settled himself into the water. There were bubbles everywhere, so the German couldn't see anything important, but it wouldn't matter anyway. Matthew would let Gil explore every inch of him if he wanted.
"The shackle chaffed it." Matthew said as Gil ran his thumb along the red ring.
"I'll put somezhing on it vhen jou get out."
"Thank you...for all this..."
"I'm just sorry it didn't happen sooner...apart from all zhat dying stuff." Gilbert set Matthew's injured leg back into the water and put his hand on his cheek, pulling him in to kiss his head. Matthew's cheeks grew pink, both from the interaction and the warm water.
"This is nice." He sighed, leaning back slightly.
"I know a guy..." Gilbert spoke up again. "His name is Matthias. He und his husband can take jou to a sanctuary."
"Oh?"
"Ja. But jou have to tell me vhat I'm up against first."
"Oh! Of course!"
"Not now. Jou can tell me vhen jou finish jour bazh."
"I'm fine...I can..."
"Nein. Just let jourself relax for a bit. Zhat's all I vant for jou right now." Gilbert had never looked at him more fondly. This was real love, not him pretending to get what he wanted, not him worried about blowing his cover. He was actually in love with Matthew. The Canadian wanted to squeal.
"Are jou hungry at all?" The German asked.
"A little..."
Gilbert pulled Matthew in and kissed his forehead. Matthew desperately wanted to be kissed in so many other places.
This was the real torture.
"I'll get jou somezhing." He hesitated to leave, like he wanted to say something else but didn't know how to arrange the words.
But he never said a thing. He got up and left Matthew alone to play with the bubbles in the tub.
By the time Gilbert came back with a plateful of pancakes covered in blueberries and maple syrup and butter, all the bubbles were out of the water and smeared on Matthew's face.
"Holy shieße! Zhat's adorable!" He squeaked. The German had a weakness for cute things, according to the file they had on him.
"Come sit on my lap and tell me what you want for Christmas."
"I vant jou to eat jour pancakes."
"No. You have to sit on my lap first!" Matthew whined. Gilbert chuckled and sat next to the tub, reaching his hand out to wipe the bubbles off his face.
"I'll sit on jour lap later.~"
Matthew's face burned hotter than the water he was sitting in.
He knew that his little friend was trying to emerge like a shark fin based on how cold his tip had gotten.
Gilbert didn't seem to notice...thank gosh. He was too busy holding a forkful of food out for the Canadian to take a bite out of.
He did so, aiming to please.
They kept this process up until the plate was empty. Gilbert set it in the bathroom sink to deal with later.
"Jou're starting to get all wrinkly. Let's get jou out und into bed. I just put zhe sheets in zhe dryer so zhey'll be nice and varm."
Matthew smiled, strangely excited. He didn't think he had ever slept in freshly washed bedsheets before.
"I like the sound of that!"Okay guys
