Unrecognized Truth

Gabe's P.O.V.

It was finally the end of the day. It was also the time that I went to my first and new friend's house, Hunter. I had suggested on driving him myself, but he insisted that he drive. I obliged and got in the car in passengers side. It felt weird to sit on that side of the car, since I've been driving since I was 14 (I know, that's young, and partially illegal), and I've never really sat on that side prior to now. When we got parked, I flinched and quivered. Hunter noticed and instantly jolted his hands toward me. I winced at the thought that he was gonna punch me, but he slowed down his arms to let me know he wasn't trying to hit me. I was confused.

"What happened Gabe, did I hurt you?" he asked, placing his warm hands on my shoulders.

"No, just... Bad memories, that's all."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah.. I'm sure."

"Well, we're here." he said. I couldn't help but shake. I'm afraid, and I don't know why.

We got out of the car and I caught a glimpse of his house. It was like a simple house. Just about the size of a large cabin. A pool in the back. It was really nice actually.

When we walked in and i was happily greeted by a dog about the size of a FUCKING ALLIGATOR. I screamed.

"PACER, LET HIM WALK WOULD YA?!" he yelled at the pooch. He walked away startled.

"Sorry about that. You hungry?" he asked. I nodded. It felt weird to be in someone else's house. But... It was a good kind of weird.

He pulled out his phone and pulled up the dial pad.

"What do you wanna eat?" he asked

Wait... he wants to pay for me? Why? He's not spending his money on me. I'm not worth it. At all.

"Wait... no..... you don't have to. I mean, my wallet is still in the car. I could go and ge...." i was cut off.

"I have enough money for the both of us. It's okay. Now what do you wanna eat dude?" he kept insisting.

"But I don't want you to pay for...." cut off again.

"I'm paying whether you want me to or not, so you might as well choose." Hunter was persistently.

"Ugh... Whatever, go ahead." I finally gave in. "Get pizza, that's basic enough, right?"

"Pizza it is!"

He ordered the pizza and it got here within about 20 minutes. He paid the delivery guy (IDK why, but he reminded me of a perogie) and we went upstairs to his room to enjoy it. We sat down and started eating.

"Wanna do something other than just sit here?" he asked.

"I guess so."

"You wanna show a little more enthusiasm?" he chuckled. I chuckled back because he made me laugh with his smile. I'm starting to grow really attached to Hunter

"Yeeeeeeee".

"Hehe..."

We stared at each other for a good 20 seconds and then I quickly ended that awkward moment. I felt like doing something... but i didn't.

"Gabe?" Hunter said quietly.

"Yeah? What's up?" I'm kinda scared to hear what he's about to ask.

"I wanna tell you the truth. I just don't know how to put it..."

UGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I SHOULD'VE FUCKING KNOWN... WATCH HIM SAY HE DOESN'T WANNA BE MY FRIEND, OR THAT BEING MY FRIEND WAS JUST PART OF SOME FUCKING BET! I guess its my fault. I should've never believed that someone SO AWESOME would EVER be my friend.

"J-j-just say it. Just GET IT OVER WITH!" I could feel my heart about to tear apart.

"O-okay... I.... um..." He kept stuttering.

"HURRY UP ALREADY!"

"OKAY... I'M NOT HUMAN.... I'm a half breed demon..."
