Ever since that day, ive been working non-stop to try and figure out these powers. But they always work when they want to, and its starting to piss me off. Sometimes, also, these powers feel the need to "work" when I dont want them too, or in public (which is the LAST place they SHOULD work). Like the time where I was in class, and I sneezed, and the entire building shook. Or the other time in Wal-Mart when I was getting something for Mitchell (which ive been spending a LOT more time with, I should mention) and some little kid decided he was gonna come up to me and bite my fucking hand, so I turned around and tried to put that hand on a shelf because I was pissed, and the entire shelf of objects melted and caught on fire. So you can clearly see how much i struggled. But some things, and im using the word SOME very strictly, ive mastered (minimally). My telekinetics are getting better (minimally). I picked up my phone from the other side of the room. Then I managed to clean my entire room spotless while doing absolutely nothing but laying on my bed. And apparently my "angel powers" or "life powers" work in healing ways too, and ive got a good grasp of that too (minimally). The way I found that out was when I saw a four or five year old fall off of a tree branch (dont worry, it was low as shit to the ground) and he started crying. He was calling for his mom but im pretty sure she was shooting conversations with someone who looked like a Looney Tunes character. So I went over to the kid and I nelt beside him and smiled."Hey buddy. You okay? Whats up?" I asked him. He looked at me through teary eyes and spoke to me.
"I fell off the tree and I got a boo boo on my leg." He sobbed.
"Lemme see. I promise I wont touch it if you dont want me to." I said. He took his hands off of his knee and revealed a little scrape mark that was bleeding a little. I felt a little bad for the kid. I knew how it felt.
"Ouch. Looks bad. Dont worry. You'll be okay." I reassured. He calmed down a bit, but he was still crying softly. I looked at him and i realized that for some reason. He reminded me of myself. I smiled again. I took his small hands in my hands and looked in his eyes. "I promise. I know you dont know me, but i never break promises." I said. Then i put my hand softly over his knee to comfort him when my hand started glowing white and gold. He looked at it and so did I. He looked up at me with that "I cant take my eyes off of it" look that kids give on Christmas. My hand stopped glowing and we looked at each other. I took my hand away from his knee and it was as if he hadn't fallen in the first place. I looked in awe. He looked at me with hopeful eyes.
"Are you a superhero?" He asked. It was cute.
"Well... not exactly. But, im Gabriel. Whats your name?" I asked.
"Dylan. Dylan Fuller." He said and made a superhero pose. I laughed a little.
"I guess you are." I said. I looked at my phone and realized I had to go see Mitchell. "Oh. I gotta go Dylan." I said.
"Will you come back?" He asked, puppy eyed. I wanted to say yes, but I couldnt. So I looked to his "mom" and shook my head.
"Is that your momma?" I asked. He shook his head. I looked again and realized they have nothing in common.
"Where's your momma bud?" He looked down at the ground and picked up a stick and pointed to the sky.
"Up there. In heaven." He said. That made my heart break. "I live in a big brick house with other kids and some on named Ms. Paulette and she gives us food and games and takes us to the park. Some of the other kids are mean to me because im small and sometimes I fall over because my feet always hurt because I was born different. It makes me sad." He whimpered. To be honest actually... so did I. Thats fucked up. No one should have to lose a parent that young.
"Dylan, you wanna hear a secret?" I asked. He nodded. He came closer to me and I went to his ear. "My mommy is in heaven too." I said. He looked at me and he looked shocked. He put his hand on my shoulder.
