A/n: Really short one but I wanted to write something about Natasha

"I'll give you a call tomorrow yeah." Natasha said as she climbed onto the bed and gave you a kiss. "Why do you never stay over?" You asked softly as she grabbed her bag. "I'm just, I'm not ready." She admitted to you and you didn't want to push it. You were used to waking up without her there. "That's okay, you don't need to explain." You gave her a smile. "I'll see you tomorrow, I love you." You told her. "Defiantly, I love you too." She said and walked out your room and you heard the apartment door shut. You never did understand why.

You felt good about today. It was Natasha's birthday and she never liked it when you spoilt her but this was the one day you had a good reason. You carried the tray of bacon, sausages and eggs just they way she liked them and a strong coffee. Years of waitressing paid off as you reached for the handle of her room. "I don't think Miss Romanoff would like that." Friday spoke before you opened the door. "Friday I will deal with Natasha." You said to her and opened the door. Natasha woke as you did, she was a light sleeper for obvious reasons. "(Y/N)?" She asked with panic in her voice as the sound of metal clinking was heard. "Happy birthday." You said to her and she sat up awkwardly and you looked to her hand which was cuffed to the bed. Everything clicked as you thought back to something you had read about the Red Room. You wanted to avoid things that would upset Natasha when you first started dating.

You kept your smile as you looked at her and she looked like she was about to break. You set the tray down. "I'm gonna get my coffee." You gave her a small kiss and left the room, Natasha was very thankful that you did. She had the chance to uncuff herself and sort herself out. You came back in still smiling, avoiding the elephant in the room. She scorched over and you got in the bed with her. "Thank you." You didn't know what she was thanking you for, the breakfast or the fact that you didn't mention it. It was probably for both. "Well I just hope I got your eggs okay." You brushed it off knowing she would talk about it in her own time, even if that was never. "They're perfect." She said as she ate some. "You're perfect." She mumbled out a little sadly. "Well I try." You joked trying to bring in some kind of humor. "So what are you wanting to do today? If you don't have anything planned here." You asked her taking a drink of coffee. "Do you have something planned?" She asked you knowing you probably did. "Yep." You said popping the 'p'. "Do I get to know?" She asked you and you shook your head. "Nope, it's a surprise." You told her smiling and she still looked sad. You had to mention it. "I will forget about it okay, I don't need to know your reasons if you're not ready." You reassured her and gave her a kiss. "Thank you." She whispered out to you. "Just stop worrying okay."

"Can I take this thing off yet?" Natasha asked for like the 10 time. "Nearly." You said that before but you were being truthful. "Okay now." You told her and she untied the blindfold. "Oh my god." She said as she read the sign. "Obviously we couldn't do this just the two of us so everyone is inside already. Let's just pray no one tries talking over the world for a couple hours." You told her taking her hand and walking inside the paintball arena. "Happy birthday!" Everyone cheered as you both walked in, everyone dressed in their protective gear. "Suit up." You said to Natasha giving her a suit to wear. "You're amazing." She told you giving you a kiss. "Well I try." You mimicked from earlier. You pulled on the suits and got shown to use the paintball guns.

"Teams?" Steve asked as all the Avengers and a few close agents gathered round. "We could do girls v boys?" You questioned. "There's more guys." Tony said. "What? Scared you'll lose stark?" Natasha taunted him. "Fine, game on." The guys dispersed leaving you to discuss tactics.
