The Choice

Looking back at the day
When I had to make a choice
I was torn between the two
God and the world

I was blinded and deceived
To think that I was saved
But in actual fact
I was digging my grave

It came to a point
So devastating to me
It not only broke my heart
But it shattered it completely

To think that I was following Jesus
But heading in the wrong direction
Disobedient and foolish
Disappointing my Master

I was one foot in the world
Not fully in the Kingdom
And was almost completely fooled
To leave my Jesus

It was a turning point indeed
When Jesus stepped in
Upon my tears and sorrows
Lifting me out of the pit

I made a choice that day
To leave the world behind
And follow Jesus fully
Living and abiding in Him

Looking at my life now
I know that it would be
My deepest regret
If I had let go of Him

The One and only One
Who truly loves me
Who gave His life to save
A wretched person like me

O My Lord Jesus
How I love Thee
You are my Saviour
My Life, My God, My All
