Layna's POV

I cannot believe he wants me to talk to Michael after all this time. To be completely honest, I did miss him a lot after I blocked his number. I missed having someone to talk to that wasn't an asshole. I just wish that I wasn't so nervous about this whole thing.

I took a deep breathe and found Michael's number in my contacts. Just one phone call, how bad could this be. I took one last breath before going for the kill.

The phone rang for what felt like hours, then I heard his voice. The voice I haven't heard since that day.

(A.N: instead of doing he said she said stuff, I'm going to make the dialogue like how do with the texts messages. Sorry if it is confusing, just let me know if you like it better this way. If not, still let me know)

"Hello?"

I froze. Why can't I do this? Just pull yourself together.

"If this is a joke I'm not laughing"

"Hey, Michael"

The line was quiet for a while. Did he not know about me calling him?

"Layna?"

"Yeah, it's me. How are you?"

"I'm doing okay. How are you doing?"

"I'm doing fine...."

There it was. An awkward silence that nobody loves to here. It was present in this conversation right now, and I don't want to be the one to break it. It's almost like Michael read my mind, because he said,

"How about we just text instead of this awkwardness?"

"Sure! I was just about to say the same thing."

"Okay." Beep.

Well that was that. He hung up and I awaited a text from him. Then, I heard a ding indicating a text message. Looks like we're friends again. Maybe.
