I slowly open my eyes to see a sleeping Sasuke beside me. I smile and reach a hand out to touch his beautiful raven locks, but quickly retract it. What will he think if he wakes up?
Oh well.
Inner! It's been a while!
Yeah, now shut up and touch his hair. I bet you it's soft.
Eh? I bet it's softer.
Just do it!
Alrighty. I grab a strand of his hair and smile. It's extremely soft.
Eeekkk!!!!
What time is it? I think, rolling on my side.
2:46 a.m.
Well, fuck time zones. I groan, closing my eyes and falling asleep again.
Unbeknownst to the pinkette, the raven laid there, wide awake and smirking.
~
I yawn, stretching as I slowly open my eyes, then hissing at the rays of sunlight that blind me for a few seconds. I slowly stand up, heading to the closet and grabbing a pair of leggings and a green tshirt. As usual, Sasuke is up before me.I brush through my long pink hair and decide to braid it to the side. Once finished, I head downstairs, where I notice Sasuke at the kitchen table.
"Morning!" I greet. He raises a brow at me. "What? Is there something on my face?!" I blush, rubbing my face. He rolls his eyes, pointing to the clock. I groan upon seeing the time, 1:30, then recover. "Good afternoon?"
"Good afternoon, Sakura." He responds, smirking.
"Ah, finally. Sleeping Beauty has awoken!" Alice says, placing a plate of eggs and bacon before me. I roll my eyes.
"Thank you for that touching comment." I sarcastically reply, getting a quiet snort from Sasuke.
"No problem, hun." She responds, heading back towards the door where she came from. I finish eating and then head upstairs where I brush my teeth and grab some homework. I sit down next to Sasuke in the living room and start my work, while he does the same. About halfway into my math homework I groan, throwing it aside. Sasuke raises an eyebrow at me.
"Need help?" He asks, and I nod, retrieving the homework. He scoots closer to me, our bodies nearly touching. "Here, it's like this." He says, easily solving the problem. Seeing my still confused glance, he does another one too.
"Oh!" I exclaim, the lightbulb turning on in my head. "Arigato, Sasuke-kun!" I thank, taking the work from him and easily completing it thanks to Sasuke's help.
"Hn."
After another few hours, I exhaustedly slump to the ground. I just... I just completed three weeks' worth of homework in five hours...
"Are you still alive down there?" Sasuke asks, looking down at me.
"I think so." I respond, earning a chuckle from him. I smile brightly.
"Sasuke-sama, Sakura-hime. It seems as if you have a few guests." Alice says, looking hesitantly to the door.
"Eh? Alright. Arigato." I thank her, standing up and heading to the door, only to be greeted by my plug and obnoxious friends, oh, and Hinata.
"Yo Sakura-chan! Where's Teme?" Naruto asks, and I roll my eyes.
"Nice to see you all too."
"Ah Sakura!" The other loud obnoxious blonde exclaims, tackling me in a hug. "Make any babies yet?"
"Is this how you're going to greet me every time you see me?" I ask her as we separate from the hug.
"Yep!" She responds, and I roll my eyes again.
"Teme!!!!" Naruto yells, running towards the said man as soon as he appeared.
"Well, come on in." I say, and the group immediately crashes in the oversized living room.
"We heard the news." Shikamaru says. Sasuke and I nervously look at each other.
"And you had to cut your honeymoon short, aw!" Ino exclaims.
"How's Mikoto?" Neji asks Sasuke, who looks at me.
"Sakura's probably better telling you." He says.
I internally blush. "She's a lot better. It seems as if she was-" I try to think of something else than telling them the truth, because if they know, the Akatsuki know- "-she was poisoned from touching mercury." I respond, deciding to settle with part of the truth. Out of the corner of my eye, Sasuke slightly nods.
"Well, thank goodness you were there. Who knows what would've happened." Tenten says, and I smile.
"...Yeah..." its awkward silence until I remember. "Ahhhhh!!!! I gotta go to work!!!!!" I exclaim, running up the stairs and to the bedroom where I grab my bag of supplies, then head back downstairs.
"Forehead! You're not going anywhere! We just got here and you're leaving?!" Ino exclaims as I rush to the door.
"I just gotta check on my usual patients, I'll be back in a couple hours!" I call back, rushing out the door and to the hospital. However, I pass my old house on the way there, where I see my father. Or rather, he sees me.
"Sakura!" He exclaims as I keep walking. Footsteps follow me and arms turn me around, and I am face to face with him.
"What?!" I spit out, pushing his arms off me.
"Listen, I'm sorry-"
"Sorry?! Sorry?! You should be fucking sorry!" I angrily yell, starting to walk again.
"Saku..." He says, and I stop at the old nickname he called me. "Saku, please." He desperately says. "Your mother wouldn't want this."
"Correction: you don't want this. Leave me alone before you make another mistake again." I angrily respond, continuing on my way as tears fall down my face.
"Saku!" He yells again, yet doesn't come after me.
"Don't call me that!" I yell at him one more time before walking away completely.
Who the fuck does he think he is-?
I hope I did the right thing.
I do my rounds at the hospital and return back home a few hours later in a sour mood. Nobody could cheer me up. Eventually, everybody left and it was just me and Sasuke.
"I'm not going to ask you what happened. Tell me when you want to tell me." He says, and I smile at him.
I'm so lucky to have him.
We sit on the couch and Sasuke puts on a show while pulling me into his warm embrace, head laying on his chest.
Arigato... Sasuke.
