I brush my long pink locks to the side and grumble, tossing and turning in my bed and ignoring the pain in my stomach. I'm bored.
Fugaku is at work and Sasuke left to hang out with Naruto, who yelled at him for caring more about me than him, which Sasuke openly admitted to. Either way, I forced him to go.
So now, I'm in bed doing nothing. "Uuuuuuuughhh..."
"Sakura, dear. I made you some tea." Mikoto says, gently tapping on the door. Fugaku and Mikoto decided to stay with us for a few days, to help around the house.
"Okay, thanks." I respond as she enters the room, handing it to me.
"How are you holding up?" She gently asks, sitting on the edge of my bed.
"I'm a lot better. Just bored." I reply, taking a sip of the warm tea.
"Well, why don't I braid your hair?" She offers.
"Ooh yes please!" I smile, sitting up. She smiles and I feel her comforting and nimble hands starting to weave my hair into a braid.
"What do you think?" She asks after a few minutes.
I look in the mirror and smile brightly. "It looks beautiful. Arigato."
"No problem, sweetie." She sincerely smiles. "There's something I wanted to talk to you about... well, Fugaku suggested it..." she says.
"Yes? You can talk to me about anything." Sakura responds.
"Well... Fugaku and I... we want you and Sasuke to have a baby."
"WHAT?!?!" The pinkette yells, blushing.
The ravenette smiles, a light pink dusting her cheeks as she lets out a lighthearted giggle. "Yes, dear. We want you to have a baby. I know how you feel right now... so just... think on it."
Suddenly, she looks at the time. "Oh, it's about time I started making dinner."
"I want to help!" I reply, starting to get out of bed.
"No, Sakura. Remember what Dr. Senju said. You need bedrest." Mikoto says.
"Buuuuuuttt....."
"Sakura." She says, and I sigh, nodding.
"Alright. But I want to be the first one to try it!"
"Deal." She smiles, heading towards the door. She heads downstairs as I flip through the messages on my phone.
I feel it before I hear it.
The hairs on the back of my neck stand up, and I look outside. Suddenly, there is a giant crash downstairs, and a yelp. I jump out of bed, immediately forgetting about my wound, and quietly make my way downstairs.
The lights are flickering down the hallway, pots and pans tossed everywhere in the kitchen. I quietly make my way into the living room, off of the kitchen, where I hear muffled voices.
"Please!" Mikoto.
I immediately rush into the room, to see Itachi cornering her.
"I have to do this." He says, no remorse in his voice. That is when I notice the gun in his hands, pointed directly at his mother. However, his back is turned to me so he cannot see me.
"Itachi! What the hell are you doing?!" I yell at him.
He turns just enough so I can see his blood red eyes. "I have been ordered by the Akatsuki to kill my parents. I need to do it to prove my loyalty."
"No! There's got to be another way!" I yell, and he turns away from me, aiming the gun. "ITACHI!!!" I yell, running straight to him. I tackle him and we roll on the ground, both of us trying to gain the advantage. "Damn you!" I yell, trying to hit him, but he dodges. He suddenly kicks me in the stomach, and I groan, falling to the ground.
"Looks like somebody's still weak." He says, pointing the gun again.
"Oh no you don't! I'm not weak!" I yell, kicking him into the wall before he can shoot. I quickly rush over to him and fight for the gun, eventually coming out victorious. I throw it aside and glare at him.
He suddenly smirks at me, and grabs me while running straight for the window. My eyes widen as my body connects with the glass, and the next thing I know, we are both falling.
"Itachi, this is not you! There's definitely another way to gain their loyalty." I respond, shakily standing up. I wipe the blood from my mouth.
"No, this is the only way."
"You-you asshole!" I yell. Suddenly, I feel a gush of wind behind me, only to see Itachi running back to the house. I follow him, taking out shards of glass out of my body as well.
Itachi tries to go after Mikoto again, and this time my adrenaline cannot stop the immense pain in my stomach. "Gah!" I yell, falling to the ground. As Itachi picks up the gun, I shove Mikoto behind me.
"Itachi, stop! Take me!" I yell, and he slowly lowers the gun.
"Take you? Why would I take you?"
"That'll prove your loyalty! I'm involved in this giant mess somehow!"
"Sakura, you'll only be killed. Deidra is pretty upset about you killing his partner. Now step aside so I can get this done and over with."
"Itachi, this is not you. Stop, please!" I yell, tears starting to fall down my face. Suddenly, his eyes soften.
"I'm sorry. Let's go." He says, and I stand still. "You're right. I can't kill my parents. I was pretty afraid about all this. Honestly, I'm afraid of joining the Akatsuki."
"So then don't. Quit."
He chuckles. "I can't do that. But now I see where you're coming from." He lowers the gun. "Let's go." I shakily nod, taking a step forward.
Mikoto suddenly grabs me. "Sakura, don't do it." She begs.
I smile regretfully at her. "I'm sorry... mom. This is the only way I can protect you."
"Sakura!" I turn towards the voice, only to be confused. "Sakura, Sakura wake up!"
My eyes open and I sit up, panting. I look around, gaining my surroundings. We're still in our house, however I am under a soft blanket. "Sakura, thank goodness." Sasuke says, tackling me in a hug.
"Sasuke." I croak out. "What happened?" He avoids my eyes. "S-Sasuke?"
"She's dead. Whoever was here killed her. And someone killed dad too."
My eyes widen in surprise as tears fall down my face. "M-Mikoto's-"
"Yes." He says, and I catch a tear roll down his face. I wipe it away and collapse into his chest.
I was too late... That bastard Itachi must've hit me when I was worried about Mikoto.
Damn it!
