The next day, I decide to go to the supermarket, despite us having our own staff that can prepare meals for us, etc.. I like to be independent and not rely on others to make my life easier.
I drive in my red car with some bags in hand and head to the supermarket. Once inside, I get some needed items, and accidentally bump into someone while trying to get some pasta sauce.
"Saku!"
Fuck.
"Excuse me." I nonchalantly reply, grabbing the pasta sauce.
"Please, let's talk over lunch. My treat." He begs.
"What part of 'leave me alone' did you not understand?" I retort.
"Saku, please. I'm really sorry. I was blinded by sadness and depression." He begs. I stop and look at him. "I'll do anything."
"No." I respond.
"Saku, please. I won't bother you again." He says, catching my attention.
"You won't bother me again, you say?"
"I promise." He replies.
"... Alright. Just let me pay for these and call Alice to come pick my car up." I tell him, and he nods. Once finished, Alice arrives a few minutes later and takes the car with a thanks from me.
Dad and I head to a quiet little restaurant where I order some ramen... seriously, I think Naruto is rubbing off on me. *sweatdrops*
Once our order comes, we eat and may I say, the atmosphere is completely awkward.
"Sakura. I have a lot of explaining to do." He says, and I nod at him to continue. "Like I said before, I was blinded by sadness and depression. You know that your mother and I were extremely close."
"You guys... had an extremely tight bond." I mutter.
"And I lost her. I didn't know how to cope, so I built up all my feelings and let them out on you, which I finally see as absolutely terrible. I've been involved in a ton of terrible things lately." He adds the last part in a whisper probably not meant for me to hear. "I finally see that I cannot beg for your forgiveness, and that we probably will still have a shaky relationship that I cannot fix, but that doesn't mean I love you any less. I want you to succeed in life, as a father I want to watch you grow, and maybe your mother is watching from above too."
I stay silent, finishing eating the meal. "What are you getting at?"
"I guess... this is just a long sappy apology." He says.
"You dragged me out to lunch for an apology that I already heard?" I coldly state, standing up.
"I guess. Just please, I hope we can talk to each other without hatred in our voices?" He asks.
"I'll consider it." I say, walking out the door.
Suddenly, my phone vibrates and I take it out, eyes widening at the text from an unknown number.
We have your mother.
How?! That's impossible! S-she's dead!
I turn around only to see my dad getting into a black van, not giving me a glance. Confused, I decide to pay a friend a visit. I start heading in the direction of my work.
~
"Kakashi, you were the one that was involved in the Akatsuki. Please tell me everything you know." I ask, sitting beside him."Hm... well, there are only five we know of. Diedara, Kakuzu, Kisame, Sasori, and Hidan. I believe our conversation left off with the poison one." He says and I nod. "That would be Sasori." He adds, confirming my belief. "He seems to use a deadly poison unknown to us and the hospital and always kills them by forcing them to put it in their bodies, no injections."
"That's exactly what I have discovered. Tell me about the others."
"He also uses guns, needles, etc.. Diedara likes to create bombs and is pretty much their escapist. He throws a smoke bomb to escape and is a long-distance supporter or fighter. Kakuzu, a strange man that can be heard screaming 'money!' chokes his victims with a rope. He's very sneaky. Kisame is the most offensive of their group. He's told to have a blue face that closely resembles a shark, and uses a terrifying blade to slice his victims to pieces. And last but not least, Hidan. He's the most insane out of all of them. He injures himself, terrifying his victims, and somehow manages to injure them as well. The group is said to be hiding on the outskirts of town, however, we have no other leads."
"Arigato, Kakashi-sensei." I thank, standing up. I pull out the book I bought for him as thanks and leave. That book put me through so much trouble...
"The new edition of Icha Icha Paradise?! Looks like somebody's getting an A+ for the rest of the year! Arigato!" He squeals, and I roll my eyes, smiling.
Looks like I'm off to the lab.
