{Lauren's POV}
"So, wait... what exactly did you see?" I ask for the third time, fighting back a smirk as I truly try to follow the brunette's breathless ramble. She's been attempting to tell me something regarding Phoenix, Dinah, and the party yesterday, but every time she tries to get it out, she goes at lightning speed, waving her arms around like a maniac and using everything but words to describe the situation.
Truthfully, I already figured that the two had to be getting it on, but having the younger girl explain it to me in a very Camila fashion was too funny to not take advantage of.
"Ugh!" The brown eyed girl groans, throwing herself blindly on her bed. "Lauren, I've already told you a million times! Stop making me relive this horrific event."
"Well, maybe if you slowed down a bit, I could understand you, dork." I say with a smug smile, tucking my legs comfortable underneath me as I lounged on her beanbag.
Taking a deep breath, the distressed girl reached behind her back aimlessly until she had two small throw pillows grasped firmly in her hands, all the while scooting her way to sit on the edge of bed facing me.
"Okay, one more time." She positions the pillows, one sitting on each of her thighs. "This is Dinah. And this is Phoenix." She holds up each of the pillows up and shakes them as she gives them assigned names. I nod enthusiastically, waiting to see where she takes this.
"Dinah. Phoenix." With that being said, the girl begins to mush the two little pillows together, making very uncomfortable kissing noises, before throwing the cushions across the room and visibly squirm with disgust.
I remain as stoic as possible.
"... So then what happened?" I try to get out seriously, but fail miserably as I burst with laughter half way through.
"Lauren! This is anything but funny!" The girl exclaims, looking at me incredulously as she pops up from her bed.
"Oh my gosh." I say out of breath, fanning myself to dry the singular tear that trickled lightly down my face from my laughter and coughing myself back to a somewhat neutral state. "Yeah, you're right. Totally right. Not funny. Not even a little bit." I let out unconvincingly.
I earn myself a long, hard glare from the girl towering above me in a very 'scolding mother' fashion, both hand planted firmly on her hips, one leg outstretched in front of her.
"Oh c'mon, Camila. Let's get real here. This was obvious." I say with an eye roll. "What's the big deal? So they like each other. I've been outright saying that since I first came here."
"What's the big- are you for- I can not believe!" None of these statements were ever finished due to the girl's near hyperventilating state. She took a quick moment to collect herself before trying again.
Pinching the bridge of her nose and sighing, "What is the big deal?" She asks, more calmly this time. "Laur, they're like my family. Phoenix is pretty much my brother, no blood relation needed, and Dinah is my sister at heart. So, that makes them brother and sister by default, and I will not stand for this incest! Not in my house!"
I stared blankly at the girl before me. Clearly, her screws were coming unloose.
"Babe. Think about this for a sec. They're two very important people in your life. And yes, you see them as family in their own respects, but that doesn't mean they see each other in that way. And if they're feeling something towards one another, think of how weird it is for them! It's probably confusing as hell, but it's not gonna stop them. So maybe, we should just hear them out and support whatever they have to say, whenever they decide to share."
