The mountain and the sea

I wish I was anathema to love but about it I always fantasise,

I think everyone would fall for you if they saw you through my eyes.

I sit alone and realise that if we were a landscape,

I'd be the snow and you'd be the mountain I'd drape.

I'd crazily be in love with you, but if the sun came by,

I'd melt away and you'd fall for the sky.

I'd weep a river and gradually submerge in the sea,

But you'd never care about me.

And I, in trial, would jump to reach you but would only form a wave,

I'd keep trying because for you I crave.

And sometimes people would call me a high tide,

Because they wouldn't know that those waves couldn't reach you no matter how hard I tried.
