Chapter 6: A Bittersweet Secret

  Going through a lot of trouble like shopping and others for two days, finally the Wednesday came. Wednesday, the day when we all went on a trip to Cape Caem, according to the plan. We were told to meet at the palace, so there I was, walking towards the palace to start our trip. It was only 5:15 A.M. in the morning when I was walking through the lone streets to reach to the gate of the palace, carrying my rucksack on my back. The sun didn't rise up in sky completely then, but still it did lit up the whole city partially. Silent was wrought all over the city, through my body, as the city was still daydreaming. Even though I was on the heart of the city, a single sound couldn't be heard. The road was clear, just a peaceful, cold breeze was flowing through the city. Damn the wind felt so good that I wished to stay there, on the road, for little more, but couldn't do that, because maybe all of them were waiting for me, this whole time, planning when I would reach at my destination, all of them would kick my ass, maybe I was wrong. But still I had to go, leaving this peaceful moment behind. Thinking all this, I grew my speed of walking a little.

  When I reached at the front gate of the palace, I saw everyone but Noct. Well I already guessed he was still having his beauty sleep. I greeted everyone as 'morning' and all of them greeted me back. Then I turned to Gladio and asked, "How are you, Gladio?" Yeah, I already earned that trust to call him by his name. 

  "Pretty good, how about yourself?" Gladio asked me, giving me a quick smile. "Not so bad I guess." Was my quick reply.

  "Wait, you two know eachother?" Prompto chiped in. "Yeah, for a long time." I said casually.

  "Why didn't you tell us before?" Prompto frowned.

  "You never asked me to." I shrugged.

  "You are hiding way too much secret, Cat." Prompto blurted out. "Yeah, you shouldn't be so interested in someone's personal life." I said with a hint of annoyance.

  After all this whining, I thought to ask Ignis about one particular thing, and so I did. "Hey Ignis, where is Noct?"

  "Well I guess, you know the answer too well, Cat." He said flickering his glass. "The princess was in his beauty sleep." Gladio said after haveing a deep sigh.

  I confused. "Princess?" I asked without having the clue why the shield told that about Noct.

  "Yeah, it's because he is sleeping beauty, but a male version, so I called that to him."

  Hearing this explanation from him, I couldn't stop myself from laughing. It was true, he sure was a Sleeping Beauty but a male version, but the way Gladio told it, I just couldn't help to laugh. I somehow managed to calm myself and asked him, "Didn't you try to wake him up?"

  "Yeah, I made him to wake up, he probably having his daily routine now." Gladio shrugged. I then thought, how much time would be taken by him to finish his daily routine..... I shrugged and decided to browse through my mobile to see if there was anything new.

  After a long time from Gladio told the last comment, Ignis and Gladio saw the prince was coming. I was too busy with my mobile that I didn't able to notice first. Gladio's "well speaking of the devil" comment made me to turn towards him, but he didn't look at me, instead he was starting at a specific direction. When I followed his gaze to look at which made him to comment like that I saw the Lucian prince was coming like a snail. Me and Gladio said "morning sleepyhead" in sync, but luckily enough, he didn't hear us. Or else who knew what would have done.....

  The prince came to us and apologized first for coming this late. We still forgave him, because we already know that there was nothing we could do about his sleeping habit. Without delaying any further, we walked to the garage and hopped into the Regalia, the king's luxury vehicle. The sitting arrangement was like - Ignis - on the driver's seat, Prompto - on the passenger seat, Noct and Gladio - on the back seat, taking the seat beside the window, and the last, but not least, me - in between Noct and Gladio. I thought I would be squeezed for sitting in between this two men, but I was really alright, at least I could sit comfortably in between them and that was enough for me.
