-Luhan-

We just sat in the hospital room and talked. I pulled out something from my bag. "Take this." I said, handing her a stuffed bear. "What's it for?" she asked. "It's Little Luhan. He'll cheer you up when I can't." I explained. For the first time in a while, she smiled.

"Oh, wait. I almost forgot." I added. I took out two bracelets similar to the one (Y/N) gave me. I put the smallest one on the bear and the other one on her wrist.

"When you look at these two gifts, think of me."

Her sweet giggles echoed the room. I haven't heard her laugh for a really long time.

"Thanks, Luhan."

"Oh, but I just have one question. How'd you know where I was and what happened?" she asked. "Well, I was going to apologize. When I used the spare key your mom gave me, I saw you collapsed on the floor. Your inhaler was right next to you. Thank goodness I got there in time." I explained.

"Yeah. If if wasn't for you, I wouldn't have survived."

I thought about this. What if I didn't come to apologize?

I couldn't even imagine life without knowing that she was still here. I couldn't live with myself if I realized that it was my fault. "Yeah." I simply replied.

I glanced at my watch. My flight was at 2, and it was 1:45. I looked at (Y/N) as she played happily with the bear. "(Y/N), can you get out of the hospital?" I asked. "Yeah,  I am pretty sure." she replied. We got her discharged as quickly as possible.

"Can you come with me to the airport?" I asked. "Oh. You're leaving today." she whispered. I nodded sadly.

"Well yeah, of course." she added. We drove to the airport and 10 minutes later, my flight was called. "That's me." I said, standing up. She stood up, too, and grabbed my wrist as I was gathering my things.

"I love you, Luhan." she whispered.

"I love you, too." I whispered back.

I pulled her into a kiss. One year without feeling her lips on mine as more than friends was going to eat me alive.

They repeated my flight name. We pulled away and hugged. "I'll miss you." we said in unison. I let go of her and walked to the terminal. I turned around one last time and waved at (Y/N). She waved back and had tears in her eyes again.

No, don't cry.

I sighed and turned back around, walking into the terminal and onto the plane.

---

- You -

I walked to the window and watched Luhan's plane roll then fly away. It flew farther and farther until it was out of sight.

And just like that, he's out of my life again.

"A year can't be that long, right?" I reassured myself.  But I knew it wasn't working. He just flew out of my life again (literally) and won't be back for quite some time. I mean, all I have to (and can only) do is wait.

I'll wait for you, Luhan. I just hope that you do the same.

I kept repeating that in your head as I walked home alone again. I was back to square one. A lonely, lame loser who was always bullied. Now I'm even more vulnerable without Luhan there to protect me. "Going somewhere?" somebody asked behind me.

I turned around to see SoHee. "Now is not the time. Leave me alone." I grumbled. "Aww, is little (Y/N) scared?" she teased. "I said....now...is not...the TIME!" I yelled in frustration. "What are you going to do? Bore me to death?" she scoffed.

"Well, I just happen to be the only one who knows about your little coffee shop secret." I replied smoothly. Her eyes widened and she was about to say something, but stopped herself. "Yeah, that's what I thought." I scoffed and turned back around. I walked home without her bugging me and I flopped onto my bed. Suddenly, my phone started ringing.

Phone call from: Luhan

"Yeoboseyo?" somebody asked. "Luhan oppa! You can use your phone already?" I asked. "Yeah, we just leveled so I wanted to call you right away. And what's with calling me oppa? You never do that." he said. "Well, I am just excited to hear your voice." I replied.

I heard a soft laugh on the other line. "Oh, (Y/N)...you're so weird." he laughed. "Yah! You act like you're not any weirder than me." I pouted.

"Hey, let me finish! That's what I like about you."  I blushed a dark shade of red.

"(Y/N), are you blushing?" he asked teasingly. "How'd you know? I mean...er...what are you talking about?" I said. We both laughed. "Sir, can you please put your phone away for a couple of minutes?" a flight attendant on the other line said.

"Okay."

"I have to go. Talk to you later, jagiya." he said. "Goodbye, my namjachingu." I replied. He laughed before hanging up. That kind of cheered me up, I suppose. But I was still sad about him leaving.

My thoughts were interrupted by my bedroom door bursting open.

"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!" my mom yelled. "What is it, eomma?" I asked curiously.  "I got a job at the big company I was telling you about before!" she said. "Congratulations! When do you start?"

"Once I get the tickets booked." she replied.

"Huh?" I laughed, but I was full of curiosity. "The company is in Manila." she said slowly, as if she's explained it 1,000 times before. "Manila? As in the Philippines? Eomma, you know how scared I am to go there after what happened to appa. Pretty much on any plane, really." I said worriedly.

"(Y/N), I don't think you understand. This job could save our lives! And besides, not every plane crashes. Please, we need to do it." she said blatantly. I sighed.

"If it is the best for both of us..." I trailed. She motioned for me to go on anxiously. ".....then I guess I can get over my fears. Let's go." She jumped happily.

I looked sadly at my phone, waiting for Luhan to call. I couldn't believe it.

Once he gets back, I'll be gone. We'll be even farther away from each other, which was the exact opposite of our dreams.
