The Doctor's POV

I land the Tardis in the building's roof. I laid Chloe in her room in her bed before hand. I opened the doors, stepping out just a couple inches.

I look down from the building.

People are all in the same status as Chloe: on the ground, lifeless, most likely upgraded. Cybermen are marching out from numerous buildings. Some carry the bodies, other supervise.

If they all are in the same state as Chloe, that means that whatever is transmitting must be close by. It also means that anyhow they got to all of those people. Possibly through the water supply? No. Not everyone drinks the same water; I would be the same as them if that were the case. Technology? Most probably.

But how?

Cell phones? Computers? Televisions?

Mobiles. Everyone has one, and are constantly on it, never leaning them out of their sights. Yes, cell phones must be how they managed to implant the data in people's brains.

I quickly go back into the Tardis. Shutting the doors behind me, I run through the halls, to Chloe's room. If I can get my hands on her phone, I could track the transmitter.

I bolt to her room, the door is slightly cracked. I slowly push it open. Chloe is still laying in her bed, like she's asleep. But she isn't. I don't even know if she's alive.

I try to think; think where she would have her mobile. In her pocket. But which? Jacket? Pants?

I don't have time, grab her jacket on the chair in the corner. I check all the pockets, checking for the phone. No luck.

So I go back to her beside. I check her jean pockets. I lift her and roll her to her side, checking the back pockets. No luck.

I roll her back to her position from before. I think again about where it could be. Did she leave it in her flat? No, she didn't bring it in.

Of course!

She didn't bring it in, so it's not in any of her clothes! But, it's somewhere in her room it has to be. I open the drawer to her night stand.

There it is!

I grab her slim, black phone.

But I don't leave quite yet. Instead, I sit on the side of her bed. She has a stand of curly, blonde hair in her face.

I clutch her phone, and lightly push the hair out of her face. I lean down and kiss her forehead.

I get of her bed, and turn to walk out the door.

But I'm stopped by a firm grip around me arm.

~~A/N: is Chloe gone for good :O ?!
