Pacing back and forth, she picked at her finger and bit her lip. Christia looked to the entrance several times but her master was not coming through. Her heart beating in anxiety.
"Where could he have gone?" She spoke out loud.
They had returned to the secret home when dawn had broken through the sky. Christia told her master of everything that had happened and he praised her for remembering his teachings. He had also told her how Madam Giry had told him where she had been taken too and how to find her.
"I really thought you would have never found me." Christia spoke up as they had entered the home. "I thought you were still upset with me." She also confessed. "I felt so horrible."
"I should apologize to you my child, for I was being rash." Her master spoke with a gentle and solemn tone. "It caught me off guard that you had even found it." He explained. "That was something from years ago that I long wanted to forget about." Christia smiled at her master.
"You are forgiven, but those people who took me. They claimed to have been my parents." Her master was silent. "The man, he was called Raul, was brash and locked me in my room. His wife did nothing. Poor woman, to live with a man like him."
"My child," her master spoke up interrupting her. "They had lost their child long time ago. Around the same time, you came to me."
"That is what they said." Christia responded. "Maybe they were my parents and I did not recognize them."
"Do you believe you were their child?" Her master questioned. Christia pondered a moment, sitting in a chair. "Did you sense something?"
"The woman," she began. "She looked almost identical to me. She was beautiful." Her master watched her face as she described his beloved Christine. "Though I overheard them speaking about something I had asked you about before."
"What was that my child?" He asked, picking up some papers from a table.
"She mentioned it but Raul said he did not want to hear anything more about, the Phantom of the Opera. I know you asked me to never ask about it again, but now I feel I must know my master." Christia spoke this, as she rose from her chair and walked over to her master. "Please." He looked at her for a moment. Christia could see his eyes through the mask. He gently took her shoulders and squeezed lightly.
"You will learn about that, but now is not the time my dear. Trust me." Christia hung her head slightly. Looking back up she nodded.
"Yes master." She spoke softly. "I understand." Her master nodded as well and released his grip and walked towards the entrance. "What shall we do then?"
"We will wait. I must ask that you remain here for a couple of days. This is in case Raul wishes to find you. I am quite sure that he will stop at nothing to find you." Christia thought for a moment.
"I understand my master, but what about you?" He turned back to Christia.
"I have a pressing matter to attend too. I will only be gone for a couple of hours. Please promise not to leave." He strode back over to her.
"Of course." Christia promised. He embraced her and kissed the top of her head.
"I should be home before dark, I promise."
She continued pacing back and forth and looked to the entrance. Christia then looked at the clock on the desk.
"7:00pm, he should have been back by now." She spoke worried. "Maybe something happened." She wanted to go find him but she remembered her promise to not leave. "I do hope he is alright."
