Soar is a pet project I have worked on, in fits and starts, for the better part of 5 years. Yes, that is a long time.
It started out as a directionless compilation of words I shared with my sister Nina. Nina liked it so much that she insisted I continue writing, and I did. It was ugly at first, but Soar is also the first book I actually tried to edit and refine. As such, it was the first story I'd ever written that I continued to be genuinely excited about. And that's saying something.
After a year or so, Soar found on a home on Wattpad. Wattpad being what it was, the progress was slow, but this book gained a few followers and considerable support, and I gained some confidence.
Eventually I decided that I wanted to take Soar somewhere where I could really sharpen the story. I found WriteOn and, with it, more help than I could have imagined.
Life intervened and threw everything into disarray. When I emerged, I found WriteOn closing and the newest draft of "Soar" several chapters away from completion. In confusion, I made my way back to Wattpad. I have to admit I'm surprised that people continued reading in my prolonged absence.
For now, Soar's home is here, alongside various other rough drafts and ramblings. I fully intend to continue honing my writing skills, but for the first time in a while, I won't be doing so with the characters from "my dragon book" at my side.
That doesn't mean I'm done with Soar, of course; I don't know if I'll ever be truly done with this one. As such, any critiques, questions, and suggestions are always welcomed and appreciated. Of course my vanity wouldn't be the least bit offended if all you wanted to do was tell me how cool my dragon is.
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy!

A note to those who have read previous drafts: a few characters and their names have been rearranged for the sake of eliminating some confusion with the high number of characters.
