Robert "Meek" Williams

"She slapped the mess out of me.", I said and chuckled.

"I see. Your cheek is still red Meek.", Na said.

"You still going through with that plan?", Kathy asked walking in.

"How y'all know about that?"

"I'm the principal Meek. I know everything."

"I don't know. She cried when she was talking to me. I didn't know I put her through all of that."

"The girl ran away and was missing for a week. Fuck outta here with that shit Meek.", Na said.

"Nasheema. Language."

"She's not going to take I'm sorry. You have to show her that you're sorry. Like everybody says, actions speak louder than words."

They both walked out my room and I sighed. My phone starting ringing and I answered it.

"Yo."

"You hear about Nicki?"

"No, what happened?", I asked getting up.

"She in the hospital."

"Where she at?"

"Sentara.", he said and I hung up.

I ran down the stairs and got my keys. I walked out the door and went to my car and got in.

"Actions speak louder than words Meek.", I said to myself.

I walked in the hospital and saw Trey, Candi, and Thembi sitting down.

"What's the status on her?", I asked.

"They pumped her, but she's sleep right now."

"What happened? Why she in here?"

"She overdosed Meek.", Candi said.

I ran my hand over my face and sat down.

"Damn man. Cause of me?"

They nodded and I shook my head.

"I didn't mean it to go this far. Ever since she rejected me, I felt some type of way."

"You should've just accepted it and moved on.", Trey said.

"How long until she wake up?"

"Maybe an hour or hours.", Candi said and I nodded.

"Well I'll be here until she wakes up."

Hours past by and she was still sleep. The only person that was with me was Candi. The other 2 had to go home since it was a school night.

"Onika Maraj.", a nurse said.

We got up and walked over to the nurse.

"Is she awake?", I asked and she nodded.

"Yes she is. Room 276."

"Thank you."

We walked to the room and slowly walked in. Once she saw me, she shook her head.

"Please get out.", she said lowly.

"Candi, can you give me and her a minute?", I asked and she nodded.

She closed the door and I walked over to the bed.

"Why are you in here?"

"Just wanted to make sure you were okay."
