Dawn of the heroes

Chapter XII - H.E.X. (1)

Nero: We had spent the rest of the night in the library hoping that Alex would have returned. I had pretended that I was sleeping because I knew that it wasn't good to let Alia alone.
Danny tried to make her feel better, but without any luck. I was thinking of my decision of adding Alex in the team. It wasn't that bad because his talent was as big as Danny and Alia's. Somehow all three were completing eachother.

Danny: The night was passing very slow. Seeing Alia crying for her boyfriend was breaking my heart. I was hoping and praying for him to be safe and sound. The next day I had intentionally slept more to give her time enough to recover.
Unexpected move, she was already awake with her eyes in tears and with her hair tied on the back.

'Finally you're awake. Today we have to visit those locations.' She told me.

I had thrown a look at Nero, who was as surprised I was. Then I remember my main reason. Hidden somewhere under these shelves, there was my big box full of weapons and ammo. It was important for all of us to have all the resources in order to succeed.

Nero: The first location was quite close to us. We were heading to the destiny that was waiting for us inside that building. The thought that everything would end was overwhelming me.

Alia: I had decided to make every battle count and bring Alex more and more close to me. The only thing I could had done was to wait for him.
The road was quite short. We had finally arrived in front of the building.
The name of the building was simple and small "H.E.X." We had entered and took the elevator to the final floor, where the main director's office should be located.
The elevator was moving slowly and the music was making me fall asleep. A powerful sound hitted the outer ceiling of the elevator. Something fell out there and more things fell after.

'Watch it' Nero said pulling out his pistols.

We had done the same thing  and waited. The metal removed slowly and the first bullet came out from Danny's weapon. A creature fell dead. We had all started to fire. The ceiling had been removed more and more and the creatures were falling around us.

'How long do we have 'till the destination?' Asked Danny. 

Looking on the button menu, I had seen there were only three floors left.

'Not so much.' I shouted.

The creatures started to fill the elevator and soon we would die if we do not reach the destination. After two or three minutes we arrived at the right floor. Jumping on their bodies, I had pushed away the door allowing us to get out right when the elevator fell with power. Seems that the cable had been cut.

'At least we got rid of them' I said.

We went on the hall to the door which we were looking for. With the guns in our hands, I warned the boys to be careful. Nero opens the door and behind it there was nothing. The room was empty.

'It's a trap.' Nero whispered.

Danny: The moment when we realised what Nero just said it was the moment when everything turned crazy. The creatures were coming from everywhere. I had started to shoot them, while Alia was kicking and punching them and Nero slicing them with his sword.
We had formed a trianglea. I was standing in front just because I could had clear the way from distance, while the others were covering my back. Each bullet hitted perfect the target. The road was kinda hard and long and the creatures number was growing more and more.

'We must get out of here.' Alia yelled.

'There is no other way.' Said Nero.

'I have an idea but you have to trust me.' I said and explained them fast what should we do.

Nero: I had taken Danny's place and went further to the elevator. I had jumped through that opened space and after few seconds I stabbed my sword in the pipes. The sword released lots of sparks before it stopped.
I had heard Danny's yell of "I'm coming" and after a while a metal rope catched the blade. Then I had heard the second yell and Alia dropped her body. For few seconds it was completely silence.

'She's alright. I got her.' Said Danny.

I had released the rope after I had made sure that they went outside. I had pulled out my sword and let my body fell. After few seconds I had stabbed the sword on the other wall pipes and fell right on the exit.
The creatures were falling from the final floor. Their consitution was impressive. They could resist to such fallings. I had moved my sword up and down and managed in the end to get out of the building and join the others.

'RUN!' I screamed.

They were following us.
Alia: We've headed to the first car that we had seen. I had hoped and prayed to be fully charged. The doors are opening from the first time, but the car didn't had keys. I had started to turn it on from the wires. While I tried to start it, Danny and Nero tried to give me time shooting the creatures that kep coming to us.
After few minutes I had heard the blessing sound of car engine. I stepped on the passenger seat and allowed Danny to drive. Nero was looking on the back window to see if they were still following us.
