Ellie was in the library with Hermione, scanning through books for an answer, a clue, something. "Don't be disappointed El, we still have so many books to go through." Hermione insisted, seeing the hopeless look in Ellie's eyes. "Lets try another one." "No, Ellie. You're going to make yourself sick. You must take a step back... tomorrow ok?" Hermione sighed, pulling the book from Ellie's hand and placing it down. Ellie nodded and they left together.

"We should go to find Harry and Ron, see what they're up to." "No, I think I'm just going to hang out by myself for a while. I have some thinking to do." Ellie replied, "Ok, well I will see you in the common room later." Hermione smiled, and headed off to look for the boys.

Ellie walked the halls and towards the castle entrance and paused at the steps. "Miss Fant..." a familiar voice spoke from behind her, she turned around to come face to face with Snape. "Professor, I know it's after curfew I jus.." "It's alright.. would you care to take a walk with me?" He asked gently, Ellie smiled and jogged down the steps and into the courtyard.
"Well come on then!" She grinned. Snape arched an eyebrow and followed her.

He offered her his arm and she looked at it and at him, then took it and they walked together to the astronomy tower. She stood looking out completely speechless at the view, "It's a great place to gather ones thoughts." Snape said without any emotion, "It is.. just what I needed." Ellie sighed, slumping down against the cold stone.

"What are you doing?" Snape scowled, "sitting...?" Ellie scoffed with a smirk, "Obviously...." he drawled and rolled his eyes. "Take a seat... " She grinned, pointing at the floor next to her. Snape plonked himself down beside her and glared at her, "I cannot believe I'm sitting on the bloody ground." He grunted.

"I miss them.." Ellie said quietly, breaking the silence. "I know, you're still in shock. You must allow yourself to grieve." Snape soothed, placing a gentle hand on hers. "I can't!" Ellie sighed, in frustration. "Why? you cannot heal if you do not slow yourself some time to grieve." "I can't grieve, because... then it becomes real." Ellie explained desperately, Snape watched as tears slowly fell from her eyes. "Come here, it's alright." Snape soothed, pulling her into his arms and allowing her to cry into his robes. He closed his eyes and winced as she sobbed.

"Ellie, you have people here to support you through this. You are not alone in any of this.." Snape whispered, "eventually everyone leaves." Ellie cried, clinging on to Snape for dear life. "Not me, I promise." He insisted while pulling her face back and staring into her eyes.
"You don't even like me.." "I don't like anyone. As everyone knows." Snape replied with a knowing smirk.

"Why are you being so nice to me?" Ellie asked with narrowed eyes, Snape chuckled and ran his fingers over her perfect face. He didn't know how to answer that question, 'Severus, why don't you tell the girl that you are besotted by her? Or maybe tell her you're lonely?' His mind taunted him cruelly. "I... am allowed to be nice am I not?" He quipped, pulling his hands from her face and settling them down on his lap.

Ellie stared at him as she looked ahead without any movement. He was looking through the wall in the distance.. it was if he wasn't really there.
"Professor Snape..." She tried, "Hmm?" He replied without looking at her.
She brought her lips to his forcefully and he pushed her off, "What? Why? I..." he panicked, before falling into her sad blue eyes. He launched his lips to hers and pulled her to him, his tongue begging for entrance which she granted him happily.

They finally broke away, when Snape worried they might take it further. "Ellie... I don't know what to say." He sighed, pinching his nose. "Did I do something wrong?" She asked, "No, no you didn't. I did... I shouldn't have.. we can't... we must pretend that didn't happen." Snape panicked, "Ok...." Ellie said sadly, he could see the disappointment in her face and it killed him, he really wanted her. "I'm still here for you, I promise. day or night.." he insisted and she nodded.

"Prof.." "Severus... please." He insisted, "can I ask one thing? did you like it?" Ellie asked honestly, "Ellie, I would do it again and again if I could, believe me." He reassured her, "I think I'd better head back to the castle." Ellie smiled gently, he could tell she felt rejected. "I might stay here a little longer.." he replied with a nod, he needed time to process what had just happened.
