Alexandra's POV
I sat down for my next class after collecting my books from my locker. I placed my chin into my hands and stared at the whiteboard at the front of the classroom until the whole room was full. The teacher walked in and started teaching. As usual, I had my notes ready, and filled up a good page and a half.
As I packed up after the bell rang, I heard the teacher call my name. "Alexandra? Could you come here for a moment?" I gulped. How could I be in trouble?! This was only my second class of the day!
I stared at the floor as went up to his desk. I looked up and found him smiling kindly at me, and I sighed in relief. "I hope you are enjoying school so far," he said and I nodded. "Well, I know it must be hard for you. You probably have no clue how to get around! That is why I decided to have a student be your guide for a month or two." He sighed and rubbed his forehead. "I'm sorry for the choice of student, but he is the only one that isn't in any clubs." He turned and barked the word,"Troy!" A kid with black hair and an annoying smirk abandoned his beeline for the door. It was the kid that I ran into in the hallway. Jake Troy.
One of the girls who had helped my find my locker in the morning, told me about Jake. Apparently, he likes to play around with girls. Gets them to like him, goes on dates with them, then breaks up with them. She was one of the unfortunate that got dumped. In other words, I didn't want anything to do with him.
I was ready to give him my death glare, but as he approached, the teacher gave him a pretty good one. Turns out this teacher doesn't like him. "Jack, you are going to be showing around our new student, Alexandra Sarns."
"It's Jake," he mumbles.
"Anyway, Josh, you are not to ruin her mind with your useless rambles."
"Jake," he corrected again.
"Now, Joseph, I don't want you to think I'm being rude. You can be a good student if you put your mind to it. You just simply decide not to."
"My name is Jake!"
"I want you show her around, and that's it! Do you understand me, Phillip?"
"Oh come on! Phillip isn't even close to Jake!"
The teacher laughed. "You and your fantasies, Charles."
A brown, curly haired boy had to drag him out. I said goodbye to the teacher, and followed the struggling pair.
Jake finally calmed down and he sat on the floor with his head against the wall and closed his eyes. He actually was kind of cute with his shaggy black hair and—No! I mentally slapped myself. I wasn't going to fall for someone like him. Not like last time.
The browned haired kid glanced in my direction in concern. "You okay? You just slapped yourself and your eyes were crossed."
"Yeah," I said, my face burning. Sometimes I accidentally end up literally slap myself without knowing.
Jake was looking at me with wide eyes and his mouth wide open. How could I have thought he was cute?! Right know he just looked dumb.
"I'm John, by the way."
I smiled at him. Why couldn't he have been my guide! He seems so nice.
John kicked Jake in the side, and I jumped I surprise.
"Ow! You said you wouldn't do that anymore!"
"You look dumb. Plus, you're suppose to be showing Alexandra around."
The two had a glaring battle, which ended with Jake getting up with a sigh.
"Come on," he grumbled,"follow me. I'll show you around."
