Alexandra's POV

After lunch, I hurried to my locker to get the supplies that I needed for the next class. My mind was still on Jake and his story. My heart ached for him. I know what it felt like to go through a painful breakup, and it had to be terrible to get framed for something you didn't do!
I let the door slam shut and spun around to head to my class. My books clattered to the ground for a second time this week. Izabella stood before me with a cheery smile om her face.
"Hey there Alex!" she said. I waved at her and bent down to pick up my books. Izzy leaned against the lockers while watching me in amusment. She didn't move to help me, unlike Jake, who helped me without a second thought.
I straightened up and awkwardly brushed the dirt off my knees. Jeez, didn't the janitor sweep here?
"Which class are you headed to?" she asked, practically glowing with happiness. Now that Jake told me what happened with Izzy, I felt a little uncomfortable with her.
"Uh, history," I responded airly.
"Me too!" Izzy exclaimed. "Why don't we walk together?" I agreed, knowing that it would be considered rude if I ignored her. We walked down the hall in silence, and turned into the history classroom.
We were a little late, but the teacher smiled at Izzy, and we sat down without and difficulties. John waved at me, and I smiled at him. Jake, who was sitting beside him, glanced towards me, but didn't do anything else. I huffed angrily before turning my attention towards the teacher.
There wasn't anything important to learn about, so I spent the rest of class doodling on a sheet of notebook paper. I rushed out of the room at the bell and hurried to my locker.
Izzy turned up again, this time walking with me to math. We arrived early, so she turned to me with a broad smile om her face.
"So Alex," she started, "I'm having a sleepover tonight, and you are invited!" I smiled at her awkwardly, my mind having a panic attack.
"I don't know..." I said slowly, unsure if how to properly respond. Normally, people would only invite me to birthday parties because they were sure that I would bring expensive gifts.
Izzy's smile wavered, and suddenly I felt like I did something wrong. "I mean, I'd love to, but—" I said hurridly.
She cut me off. "Great! My house at seven o'clock! It's the big tan house on Castle Street!"
The teacher entered at that precise moment, forcing me to go quiet. Oh, what in the world did I get into?
