Alexandra's POV
Class passed dreadfully slow, so it seemed hours until the end of the day. When I heard the final bell, I couldn't help but silently cheer. I grabbed my bright orange book bag from my locker and stuffed a couple of books in it, not really caring. Then I was free to go.
I walked out into the sunshine and smiled. I actually liked this school, give-or-take a few classes. The students were really nice and no one gave me a hard time about joining the school late. Maybe—
My thought were rudely cut off as someone ran into me for the second time today.
"Oops, sorry Hun, didn't see you there!" a voice said from above me. I looked up into the person's red eyes and sighed.
"It's no problem, Veronica," I said, dusting myself off.
She looked over my shoulder. "Darn, I thought I saw Jake, but I guess it was just a trick of the light."
I started walking, but I heard footsteps behind me. "Hey, wait up! I'm coming with you!" I grumbled but didn't object.
We walked in silence for a while, but I knew it wouldn't last. "So...what's your relationship with Jake?" she asked.
I rolled my eyes. "We're friends Veronica. Honestly, why do you like him so much?"
Her eyes shone. "He's just so cute! His hair and his eyes make me melt!" she gushed. "And he plays hard-to-get! It's so fun!"
"Have you ever took into consideration that he might not like you like that?" She spun around to stare at me. Her eyes seemed to shoot daggers.
"Of course he likes me! Why wouldn't he?!" I sighed; this girl was hopeless.
"Let's not talk about this right now, okay?" I suggested, wanting to get off this topic.
She nodded eagerly. "Yeah! Let's find Jake!"
    "Wait, what?!"
"Find Jake! When I see him, I'm going to give him a huge hug!" She threw her arms out in example, accidentally smacking someone who was riding past on a skateboard, in the face.
"Watch it, kid!" she snarled at him. Then she stepped forward and help the kid up. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry Jake!" She winked at him. "But at least we found you, cutie!"
Jake glared at Victoria. "Victoria, I told you not to call me that!" She shot him a sweet smile.
"Hey, can I see your phone?" she asked casually. "I need to call someone."
Jake raised his eyebrow. "I'm not falling for that stupid trick again." He picked up his skateboard and started to walk away. Victoria chased after him, so I was left standing in the middle of the sidewalk like a complete idiot.
I had two options. One, follow Jake and Victoria, because it just so happens that the way to my house is down the same road they were on, or two, walk around the whole block, climb over my fence, and go in the back door, all while hoping my neighbors have their crazy dog chained up.
    I took the first option.
I made sure I was at least 20 feet behind Jake and Victoria, so I wouldn't have to join in their conversation, but Victoria turned around and grabbed me by the arm.
"Hey, Al, I wanna see the inside of your house!"
"I really don't think—" I started, but sighed because she wasn't listening.
"Lead the way!" she said happily. Jake apparently took this time to make a break for it, but she latched onto his arm as well. Seeing that I had no choice, I turned onto the pathway that led up to my house.
"Wow! Your house is so big!"
I dug around in my bag, pulled out my set of keys, and unlocked the door. Pushing the door open, I said,"Welcome to my new home."
