Thylane

After the incident at the cliff, Theo realized that he already can't do anything about me being engaged to is cousin. Even me, I can't believe that I'll be marrying Theo's cousin. The drive back to my house was terribly awkward. Not even a single word was uttered while we were in car. Seconds later, we were already in my front door. Theo was standing with his hands deep in his pockets. His feet tapping on the floor and he was staring at me.

"Ugh.." I said, not knowing what to say.

"I had fun Theo." Finally able to form words. I smiled at him but this time, he didn't smiled back. I am already missing the charming Theo I knew.

"So this is goodbye then?" He said. His lips were pursed.

"I guess you can say that." My heart ached a little at that. Theo doesn't deserve this. I feel like the most awful person right now.

"Bye." He said with finality to his voice. I nodded slightly and turned my back to him. I started walking but I was pulled within seconds into Theo's chest. His hand was on my neck and the other was on my back.

"I don't know what to feel right now Thylane, but know that nothing will change what I feel for you." He whispered against my hair. I just remained silent. He finally let go of me and smile, but it wasn't the smile that I used to seeing, it was a forced smile. "See you when I see you." He said but our gazes snapped to the car approaching us.

Luca.

When Luca stepped out of the car, he glanced at our direction. He was wearing a tight fitting white shirt and a grey sweatpants. I also noticed that he had on some fresh pair of Nike trainers.

"Theo?" He asked. Clearly surprised that he would find his cousin here.

"Luca, long time no see man." Theo said as he approached Luca, giving Luca a manly hug.

Luca glanced between me and Theo. He seemed confused. He was about to say something but Theo cut him off. "Luca, I really got to go. See you at dinner." He said then went off.

Luca then turned his attention towards me. "I see you already know my cousin Theo. He was the one I was talking about at dinner."

"I figured. What are you doing here? Missed me already?" I teased.

"What would you do if I did?" Now he was the one teasing. I gave him a surprised look. I opened my mouth to say something but he stopped me.

" Actually, my mom wanted me to give you her infamous blueberry pie." I noticed just now that he was holding a box.

"Really? I love pies." I said as he handed me the box. I was smiling widely now. I glanced at him but he wasn't smiling. His eyes bore onto mine. His plump lips set into thin line. I studied his eyes, the way his long dark lashes grazed his skin when he blinks. Beautiful. I noticed the slight stubble he had grew for several days and it made him look more handsome. I held his gaze for a moment. He too was studying me. His eyes scanning every imperfection of my face. I was surprised when his fingers grazed my cheeks. Then he snapped out of his trance. He shook his head and took a step away from me, like he can't believe what he just did. He looked angry now. Not sure if he was angry to his self or to me.

"I need to go Alexandra." He stated then he hurriedly went off, not even giving me the chance to say goodbye.

Luca

I didn't know what happened back there but for a moment, I saw the girl that haunted my dreams for years .The girl that made me see the world in a better perspective. The girl who I imagined walking down the aisle towards me. The girl who I loved unconditionally. The girl who broke me.

A knock on the door broke me out of my trance. I quickly hid the picture back in my drawers.

"Come in." I said as I try to compose myself.

I poured myself some wine then leaned back against my chair as I watched Theo stride in my office.

"Wine?" I offered but he shook his head.

"Is it true? You're engaged to Thylane?" He inquired.

"If you mean Alexandra then yes, father has arranged the engagement." I said as I set my glass on the table. I leaned forward. Studying the look my cousin had on his face. Hurt. Maybe.

I studied him with amusement.

My cousin has a little crush.

"You like her." It was not a question. I saw the way he looked at her earlier and the memory made me clench my fist. He fell silent and tip his head downwards.

"Do not go near her again. I won't tolerate any advances you will make towards her." I declared

Theo looked up and glared at me. He looked angry now.

"Do you even at least like her?"

"Mio caro cugino, you're acting like a lovesick pup now, aren't you?" I chided.

"This is madness. She doesn't belong in your world!" He exclaimed.

"Do not talk to me like that." I said with a stern voice. His shoulders drooped, signaling defeat.

"You don't deserve her." He said with a venom in his voice.

"And you do?" I asked. He fell silent, finding a hard time for his comeback.

"You know you will just hurt her. You will just drag her into your dangerous life Luca. She doesn't fit in the.." I slammed my fist on the table, silencing him. He looked terrified for a moment.

"Do not speak to me like you know a thing." I said with a low voice.

"Does she even know?"

"Still too early for that, but she'll know sooner or later." I said.

Theo sighed and stood up, leaving me without uttering a single word
