I smiled skeptically as as I took his hand in mind. With shaking feet, we exited the room, me tucked in Luca's side.

The ballroom was lavishly decorated. The grand room displayed high rise ceiling decorated with golden chandeliers, and marble floors swirled with intricate designs. It would make all the girls here feel like Belle. People all wearing black gowns and tuxedos filled the room, waiters and waitresses attended to their needs and glasses of wines were never empty.

Luca led me to a table near the stage, his family name written in bold letters was placed in the middle. He really is that important. I sat down when Luca pulled out the chair for me. His muscles flexing as he bent down and motioned for me to sit. Handsome is an understatement. Luca Elijah Giardini is far beyond gorgeous.

"Thank you" I said as he too, slid down in his seat. Immediately after, a waitress came to our side.

"Wine mam?" She turned to me first.

"Just water, she's not very keen on alcohol. And wine for me please." Luca said getting the attention of the waitress. By the time the waitress have left us, holes were already drilled on Luca's head with the intensity of the stare I am giving him.

"How do you know I don't drink alcohol?" I say as Luca whipped his head in my direction. His lips turned up into a smirk as he took a sip of his wine.

"I have my sources." He said, his eyes never leaving mine. I wonder how he could hold my gaze longer than I'm comfortable of. Maybe, it's Italian genes and his piercing green eyes. I cleared my throat and looked away, his intensity too much for me.

I scanned the whole room, people were busy talking to each other. Wines in their hands, laughing and chitchatting and eating. They were obviously having fun.

A regal looking man approached our table, from the looks of he was as old as my father.

"Mr. Thomasi." Luca called. He stood up and shook the hand of the older man.

"Mr. Giardini. Long-time no see." Mr. Thomasi said as he smiled to Luca. Strangely, Luca didn't smile back. Instead, his lips were set into a thin line.

"I could say the same." Luca said to Mr. Thomasi but his eyes were already settled on me. Mr. Thomasi smiled but it wasn't charming. It was a Cheshire cat smile that made your hair follicles shoot up. It was strange and creepy.

"Well, well, well, who is this lovely young lady?" He said and I quickly shoot up from my seat. He gently took my hand and kissed it. The action sent goosebumps all over my body. The moment he let go of my hand, I felt Luca's hands holding my waist firmly then I was pinned on his side.

"This beautiful lady is my fiancée." He said in a low possessive voice.

Mr. Thomasi's smile quickly vanished and he cleared his throat.

"You're a lucky man Luca. Make sure she doesn't stray away from your sight. Someone might steal her away from you." He said as he turned his attention towards me, smiling creepily that I almost shivered. I felt Luca's grip tightened on my waist.

"Alexandra, will you excuse us for a moment? I believe Mr. Thomasi and I need to discuss about something." He said and with that, both he and Mr. Thomasi went out of sight. What do I do now?

Not knowing what to do, I decided to head off to the bathroom to freshen up. As usual, I reapplied my lipstick and fixed my hair. I heard the door of the bathroom opened then closed. I expected to hear footsteps but I heard nothing. Instead I felt a cold metal pressed against the side of my temple. My heart drummed and I felt sweat coating my palms. When I looked up and looked at the reflection in the mirror, that's when I saw him. A man wearing a black from head to toe.
