On the way back to Lena and Alex I take a little bit of a detour. I don't know why but I don't feel like going back there right now. If I go back now the reality of my situation will come pounding down on me. I'll have to face the fact that I may not be able to stay here. I can't bear going back inside the walls, I love it here too much. Love. I'm already opening up my heart and it hasn't even been a day. It's amazing how much that four letter word can change you, and how fast it does.
Instead of going to Alex and Lena, I just wander. I watch all the people spending the last dwindling hours of the day together. I can picture this as my life. It's witching my grasp, I know it is, I just have to reach far enough.
I see Lena's mom and Grace across the clearing. Grace is laughing and running around Annabel with a huge smile on her face. Annabel looks so happy, she is glowing. She laughs as she catches Gracie and picks her up and spins her around.
I don't know how long I stand there, just watching. Thinking about how much I want the love the love they have.
Suddenly almost everyone has left the clearing and I decide that I should go back to Alex's.
It's time to get back to my reality.
