"Tell me about the group dynamic at that point. Lilith and Atara had just had a falling out, and Merc and Lilith had been angry at each other since they met. How were you functioning as a unit?"
"To be honest I was mostly keeping everyone together. It was difficult and taxing, but I got them to trust one another in the end."
"So much distrust and yet you all seem to have come out of it as friends – thick as thieves, I dare say. Can you account for that?"
"Some things, once you've gone through them together, no matter who you are or who you're with – they create a bond that can't be broken. They tear down differences and burn through hatred until all that's left is shared experience and the weight of having to live on in spite of it. There were only four of us back then, and for all intents and purposes, it's still just the four of us now, pushing forward in a world that doesn't and will never understand... So yeah, we're close, I guess."
