Chapter One

Usually, when you’re being forced to marry, as a teenager, it’s the last thing you want to do. It’s a horrible thing, and bad.

But not for me. I actually don’t mind the fact that my parents are forcing me into an arranged marriage.

I don’t like the guy, in fact, I despise him. But I'm marrying him for the good of the company, for the good of the family.

You see, my parents own a law firm, and because they were never given the chance to have a son that would be able to take over the business, the responsibility was passed down to me. But because I'm a female and my parents believe that I should have a strong man by my side so that I take over correctly.

Their mentality isn’t the best, but they’re my parents, I can't do anything about it.

What I can do is marry into this family, and join our law firms so that we become even more powerful than we already are.

“Ok honey, act your best.” My mother said as she looked at the small, tight, black dress I had on.

I smiled the normal fake smile I smile to everyone. No one knows that it’s fake. No one knows anything about me.

“Ok mother” I said in a serious tone. This marriage is nothing but business.

“Please, try to get along with them. Try to like him.” She said with a happy smile.

I smiled. The fact that I wasn’t interested in him or any other man was going to be difficult. But of course, like almost every other arranged marriage, I am going to hide my true feelings. Smile like I am happy, and pretend that I am fine.

But inside, I'm going to be sad. Not for what is to happen, but for what I left undone. For the feelings I never told anyone about.

There’s this girl, at my school. Probably the most beautiful creature I have ever seen. Her light brown eyes and dirty blond hair. The cherry red lips, the cute blush on her cheeks every time she gets nervous.

Probably the most difficult thing to do is to love someone from afar, and I have. My feelings for this girl have only grown in the past two years. But I have never been able to tell her how I feel, she had a boyfriend once in these two years.

They didn’t last more than a month because he was all wrong for her, he only dated her for her looks. But her beautiful looks aren’t the only thing that matter.

She has a kind heart. She loves to read, she gives up most of her free time to helping out at an animal center. She’s vegaterian, and environmentally friendly.

I’ve tried my hardest to find a default in her, but she is the closest thing to perfection that I know.

That or I love her so much I don’t even acknowledge her imperfections.

“Ok, knock honey” I heard my mother say to my father.

I fixed my blond hair to perfection, letting the curls flow down my back.

“Ok” then he knocked.

Not even five seconds later a very pretty, petite woman opened the door.

“John, Sandra, how lovely it is to see you” she said politely while letting into her beautiful home.

I smiled politely while thinking, wow really. We were invited, you act as though this is a surprise.

“Celia, you look beautiful.” She woman said to me politely.

I smiled. “Thank you. You look beautiful as always Mrs. Grayson.” I said while smiling at her.

She smiled and waved her hand at me dismissively.

I had an urge to chuckle, but settled for smiling. We walked into the sitting room were we waited to meet the family, the person I was supposed to marry.

I sat down on a couch, making sure not to wrinkle my overly priced dress, I am supposed to be picture perfect person. Someone I have tried to be my whole life. Everyone thinks I'm perfect... if only they knew.

“Hello Celia” I heard him say while kissing my hand.

I smiled politely. “Hello James” I said with a small smile, while pretending to be effected by his amazing looks.

James is about fix feet tall. He has a perfect body, well built, tan, and the most amazing dark blue eyes. But, he’s also the school jerk, quarterback, and a huge flirt.

“You look amazing” he said while smiling at me.

His smile, nor his eyes, nothing about him affected me in any way. But after years of practice, I can pretend that anything anyone does that makes me blush.

I looked away from him, pretending once again that his simplest touch affected me. “As do you” I said in a low whisper.

He chuckled. “You don’t have to be shy with me Celia, we are to be wed. The least you can do is look at me.” He said while pulling me to my feet.

My, what a charmer. No wonder he is the school’s biggest flirt.

“Ok” I replied while looking at him, feigning my innocence.

He smiled, his dazzling, yet still ineffective smile at me.

Oh gosh, I'm already tired of this ass I thought to myself.

“I’m sorry I'm late. I fell asleep and-” I turned to look at someone I did not expect to see.

Her long dirty blond hair was curling down her waist, still wet from her shower. The light brown eyes were looking at her mom in fear.

I let go of James hand and walked over to her.

“It’s ok, we just got here.” I said while smiling reassuringly.

She looked at me with wide eyes, a small blush reaching her beautiful soft cheeks.

“Oh. I'm sorry” she said while looking down.

I smile, “you shouldn’t look down, your glasses could fall.” I said, my thoughts didn’t even register the rest of the people in the room.

She looked up at me while fixing her glasses.

“Sorry” she mumbled.

I chuckled. She has always been the cutes thing in the world to me.

But now, I'm marrying her brother.

“I’m glad you're here Rebecca, Meet Celia. Your brothers Fiancé”
