I stares ahead of me as I walked through the gates of my school. My diver always drops me off right outside the gate, which makes me walk all the way up the stairs of the main building, alone.

I kept a smile on my face and walked straight ahead.

“Good morning Celia.” I heard someone say.

“Good morning” I replies.

“Hi Celia.”

“Hello”

I never ignore the random people who greet me, because that’s all it is a greeting. Nothing else, none of these people have ever tried to have an actual conversation.

I continued to walk until I was standing by my locker.

I wrapped my black cashmere sweater around me tighter.

The school uniform wasn't that bad. Girls had to wear skirts, the plaid kind. A cliché school uniform, I wore knee length black socks and my dressy shirt. The sweater and shirt had the schools labels.

And our school, old and brick like. The school isn’t that nice, but it has 'history' as my parents say to me. And that’s besides the fact that the school is prestigious and cost a lot of money. Only wealthy people attend this school.

I grabbed my books out of my locker and started walking to class before I heard a very disturbing noise, someone being pushed up against a locker.

“Did you do my homework nerd?” someone said in a harsh tone.

I didn’t even have to look to know that it was Brenda, the schools main.... well bitch. Shes the kind of person who threatens people to get what she wants. I guess the main bully.

Every school has one. I guess she took it upon herself to scare people.

“y-yes” I turned at the sound of the voice.

Rebecca was wearing her skirt, a little but shorter than knee length, her socks, but she had on a blazer with the schools logo. I personally didn’t like the shoulder padding on the blazer so I never wore it.

“Whats going on here?” I asked Brenda nicely as I approached her.

I could hear her sigh as she turned to me.

“nothing your highness.” she said with sarcasm.

Her little crew behind her simply laughed.

I continued to smile. “then would you kindly release Rebecca and go on your way.” I asked her, but my look was threatening. She knew that if she didn’t listen to me there would be consequences. I know everyone in the school, teachers, principles, advisers. Every single one of them knows my parents, which means that they know me.

“Whatever.” she said after stepping away from Rebecca.

I smiled as she walked away and I helped Rebecca stand up straight.

“are you okay?” I asked her with concern.

I knew that if it was anyone else I would of probably walked away after helping, but this was Rebecca and I've always wanted to talk to her during school.

“Yea, I'm fine. Thanks.” she said while straightening herself out.

I let go of her, forcing myself to take a step away from her.

“OK, that’s good to hear.” I said a little sad, it seemed like she didn’t really want to talk to me.

She looked around nervously. “should you really be talking to me?” she asked me while fixing her glasses. “i mean I'm a nerd and your royalty, I don’t think people will like this much.”

I couldn’t help but giggle at how nervous she looked.

“i don’t care what people say to me...” I said while continuing to smile. “but ill tell you a secrete.” I said while leaning into her.

She was wide eyed as I came closer to her.

“w-what?” she whispered.

I smiled to myself as my lips neared her ear, our closeness made me so nervous. I felt the butterflies in my stomach, and loved it.

“I've always wanted a friend at school.” I said while backing away from her.

She had a melancholy smile on her lips, realization hit her and then she got a determined look on her face.

“I'm your friend Celia.” she said while smiling.

I giggled again. “thanks, that means a lot to me.” I replied.

Then she did something that I would of never expected her to do, she came closer to me and wrapped her arms around me, hugging me.

I couldn’t remember the last time someone hugged me, usually everyone avoided me. And my parents, it seems like the only reason that they had a child was to get someone to pass their work down to.

I'm guessing that’s why they don’t like me as much as they should.

“I'm sorry.” she whispered softly.

“F-for what?” I asked her, slightly confused.

She chuckled lightly. “i always looked up to you... never once did I think of how lonely you must be. I feel selfish.” she said while holding onto me even tighter.

“Its not your fault, its no ones fault.” I said while pulling her away from me, noticing the people who were staring at us.

“You should hang out with me during lunch” Rebecca sad while smiling up at me.

I couldn’t keep a smile off my face, knowing she wanted to help me.

“ill try” I said honestly, because I never had friends I made myself as busy as possible so that I would never feel lonely.

But spending lunch break with her for one day wont hurt. At least I don’t think so.
