Driving to the party was very interesting. We talked about her boyfriend and of course, my mystery man. What was his deal? Is he new? What’s his name? I had all these questions that obviously couldn’t be answered. I wanted to know more about this guy and I’m suddenly feeling very nosey. I mainly want to know why he was in my dream and what’s the connection?
Driving in the middle of nowhere I felt like I was being kidnapped by Kat and being carried off to a secluded house where no one would hear my screams. Have I mentioned I’m a horror movie fanatic? I laughed to myself. Kat looked at me like I was crazy,”What?”
“Oh, nothing. Just my mind is wondering again. Where is this party exactly?” she lit a cigarette and handed it to me.
“Um, I don’t really know. I just got the address from Abby and put it in the GPS. I’ve never been there before but I heard the last party was amazing. The only thing is that’s its way up in the mountains.” Great. I handed back her cigarette after taking a second drag.
Out of nowhere a car came around the corner. I slammed the breaks being sure not to swerve. Once all the commotion stopped I looked at Kat. “What the hell Hailey! Were you paying attention?” I suddenly felt bad remembering it wasn’t my car I was driving it was her precious baby Camaro.
“I’m sorry Kat. I must have gotten distracted or something…”I then trailed off. I looked off at the guy in the car next to us, he was giving me the finger. I just looked at him and he drove off. I sat there confused.
“Hailey?” I looked at her “what’s going on?” I felt like I’ve had that happen before to me. But I was in the back seat. I couldn’t remember, only that much.
I finally answered her after collecting myself, “yeah im fine. Just some déjà vu. So, shall we?”
“I think I should drive.” She started unbuckling her seat belt to get out but I stopped her.
“No its okay, just keep talking to me and keep my talking and I’ll be okay.”I looked at the GPS. “We are almost there anyway.”
She slowly started buckling again, looking at me worriedly.
“Im fine lets go.” With that I pulled forward glad that no one was behind me. She handed me the halfway burned cigarette.
“just relax and think about the party.” I don’t want to think. Its dangerous.

As I pulled into the driveway I couldn’t believe we were still in Pennsylvania. First off we just drove about 20 minutes through thick woods and windy roads. Second, we ended up at a random clearing.
The house was set back off of the property, at the end of a long ass drive way lined with at least 30 cars. We could hear the music and people talking. The house itself was humongous, there were 4 floors. I pulled up and parked the car at an empty space.” Whose house is this again?” she never really said whose party it was. How can anyone with money to afford this go to OUR school.
“Um. You know Samantha Rinehart?” she was admiring it too from the passenger seat.
“Yeah. I haven’t talked to her in about a year though. She’s in my study hall.”
“Yeah well, this is her dad’s house. She told everyone he is away on a business trip for 2 weeks.”I nodded. “Well we better get inside.”
“Hold on I gotta put my dress on.” I grabbed my bad and started stripping. I had this nice blue sequined mini dress Abby got me for my birthday last year. She recommended I wear it tonight. She chose the right dress. The blue brings out my eyes and my curves look great in it, not to sound conceited. I stepped out of the car and slipped on my black flats.
“Okay, okay. You look great. Can we go inside?” I looked at her and smiled.
“Hey. You dragged me here. I’m at least gunna look good doing it.” I winked at her and she locked her car and took my arm. I always got a nervous feeling in the pit of my stomach before a social event like this. I’m really friendly and get along with everyone and I’m already friends with half these people. It’s the other half of people I don’t know and cold be judgmental. That’s was makes me sick of parties.
Kat sensed my uneasiness, “Just relax Hailey. You’ve been to plenty of parties. This on should be easier than the rest” She gave me a smile and calmed me. We walked up the stone pathway which was lit by Christmas lights, pretty and welcoming. We passed a couple of people talking and smoking. We said hi but kept walking till we were inside, the door wide open.
We were welcomed by Samantha who was laughing at a guy holding her waist and smiled. “Hey guys, come on in. Glad you could come. There is beer in the fridge and everything else is in your disposal. Have fun.” Then she was gone. I looked at Kat and she looked at me and shrugged. I was looking for the kitchen till Kat found it and led me into it. I had the groceries and wanted to help my setting some of it out and everything. Kat said she wanted to help but she ended up finding Eric and left me alone.
I stepped into the kitchen and ran into a wall. Well what I thought was a wall at the time. but it was actually a man.
“Oh, I’m sorry….” He trailed off, looked at me and I looked at him. He smiled and then I realized who he was, Mystery. Man. “Fantastic.”
I then freaked out thinking he thought I was following him. “What?”
He smiled then bent down to pick up the bags I held. “You brought groceries, thanks.”
He grabbed the bags and walked to the other side of the kitchen. As he opened the soda and started pouring it into cups I grabbed one. He kept looking up at me smiling and it seemed like he was going to say something but he never did, neither did I. I took my cup and left the kitchen trying to kind Kat. I turned around to find him singing to the song playing and cooking the pizza rolls.
Looking around I couldn’t find Kat anywhere. I observed the crowd and found that I knew everyone. I stopped here and there to wave hi or give a hug to someone I knew. When I turned around I saw a short girl with a pretty floral dress all in purple. So I only had one guess, it was Abby. She was talking to a couple guys when I walked over. I cleared my throat and got her attention.
“Hey Hailey!” she gave me a hug.
“Hey Abby. How’s it going?” she looked at the guys she was talking to, both being very cute, but I’ve never seen before, so my tummy tightened.
“How do you think?” then she laughed and one of them put their hands around her waist. She obviously had a couple of beers already because she was tripping on her feet. The one guy asked her if she was okay and she said she was but I knew better.
“Okay your coming with me missy.” I propped her on my arm and we walked to the nearest bathroom I could find.
