With such a swift movement he came into the room. His light auburn hair glistened in the light hovering over the door, making his green eyes full of life. Once he saw me he smiled and I felt my cheeks flush. It was silent for about 5 seconds till he broke it. “Hey.” His voice was deep and sounded very sexy.

“Hey.” Common Hailey keep it cool. He’s just some guy, no one special. But yet I couldn’t leave his gaze.

“And what’s your name?” he stood against the door frame waiting me to respond.

“It’s uh...” I seemed lost for words. I’m such a dork just say your name! “Hailey” I shot a smile to hide the fact I almost forgot my name. “I’m Hailey Campbell.”

“You have a very pretty name.” I didn’t respond but just smiled at him. Why am I so shy? I felt my face heat up. “Well, if you were wondering...” which I was. “My name is Kevin Richfer.” He walked closer to me and stuck out his hand. I took it in mine and found he had very big hands which were such a turn on. They were also very warm and soft, he shook my hand with such confidence and with a stern grip.

When he finally let go after what seemed like forever of just looking at each other and shaking each other’s hand. I suddenly realized what if he was waiting for me to let go? I held on and probably seemed like a weirdo. I looked over at Sam who had her eyebrows raised. “What?” I said to her as she took turns looking at me and…Kevin.

“Oh nothing. I need a drink. You better go and do the beer run quickly.” She smiled as she winked at him as if to send him a secret message. I looked at his face expression as he caught on and smiled.

I suddenly felt nervous. “Well I better get back to the party, it was nice to meet you Kevin.” His name seemed to roll off my tongue as if it was meant to happen. I headed to the door but before I could reach the handle he stopped me.

“Actually, Hailey, would you mind joining me as I run out?” I looked at him and started to reject his offer when he interrupted “It would be a treat to be joined by such a beauty.” My cheeks flushed once again and I didn’t know how to respond.

All I could do was say okay and follow him out of the room down stairs and out the door. I followed close behind him and couldn’t help but check him out. I mean maybe he isn’t as great as he is in my dreams, but he could be better. Then he spoke, “So how you know my cousin?” They were cousins? No wonder they had a similarity I couldn’t point out.

“Well about 4 years ago I met Sam in my gym class. We didn’t talk much but we became sort close last year especially when some things happened and she never left my side like most of my “friends” did. I will never forget how she threatened to beat up this guy for me who was a total ass-hole.” Wow was I really talking this much. But he just kept walking with a smile on his face.

“Sounds like her.” He giggled and it was so cute. He put his hands in his pockets as we were halfway to his car at the end of the driveway. I looked up at the sky and the night looked so beautiful. I noticed how the air was nice and crisp and was actually getting a little chilly. It was perfect except for the faint music in the background from the party.

We reached his car and I was shocked. He was driving a red Chevrolet Camero…convertible. It was so hot! I mean I know Kat has a black Camero but damn this car was like a dream car. I stopped walking for a second as I took in the sight. He then laughed.

“You like it?” he looked pleased. He must be one of those guys who have the nice things to attract all the girls…girls that were not me. I pictured him driving with a bleach blonde model in the front seat.

“Yes I do very much. This is actually my dream car.” I walked over to the car and touched the door. Then I quickly pulled away not sure if he was the type to freak when people touched his car.  As if he read my mind he cleared his throat.

“It’s okay. You can touch her, I’m not that type of guy.” This made me smile. I was never into cars but I definitely know everything there was to know about this particular car.

“How to you afford it?” After I said it I quickly wanted to take it back. I felt I was getting to personal. “I mean…never mind. You don’t need to answer that. It just came out.”

He laughed as if I just told the best joke ever. “I don’t afford it. My dad owns restaurant chains that are located all over the states.” Wow.

“What restaurant chain?” I couldn’t believe I was talking to him like this, still amazed.

“It’s called The Wolfe.”

“Oh yeah. My friends and I eat there every Wednesday.”He looked at me with curiosity. “It’s been a tradition since about 10th grade.” I went on and on about my Wednesday, mentioning the restaurant, the movie we see after with Abby and the usual tea at the café down the road.

He was leaning against his car. How did I just tell this stranger my whole Wednesday schedule? I must be either crazy or stupid. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to ask that. Sometimes I just ramble.”

He laughed. “It’s okay. It’s cute.” That made me smile and he returned. He had perfect teeth and lips that made me wonder how they felt. Wait what? How am I even thinking this way? I don know this guy. I felt my face get hot and I looked away. Jeeze! “So you gunna get in?” I nodded and got into the car.

“So where are we going? An alcohol store? A gas station?” he just looked at me and smiled. His dimples showing in the dim light of the moon and the corners of his eyes wrinkled up. How cute!

“That’s going to be the trip back to the party. Sam will be pissed but I don’t even care. I hate being her personal slave.” He got all serious and started up the engine. As we pulled away I let down my long brunette hair so that the wind could do what it wanted. I didn’t care if it got messed up. I saw him look over at me and smile. “I thought maybe we could get a slice of pizza. I don’t think you like the food being served at my cuz’s party.”

I nodded and let him take me out into the night.
