Their Love- Mia

How did I manage to fall in love with such a blunt man? We've been together for almost a year now and still, I have not been able to get used to the way he casually speaks of sex and periods. There were many things about Asher that I was not used to. His openness with touching me in public, his descriptive vocabulary when it came to sex and complimenting me. There have been times when I could have sworn he kept a notebook specifically for these words. One man could not remember so much.

As I stared in awe at Asher, he still had that smirk on his face from when he told me how much he enjoyed me on my period. I reach up and try to cover or change the sexy smirk on his face. Asher laughs at my poor attempts and pulls me into another hug.

"You have no idea how happy you make me," He tells me digging his head into my neck.

I wrap my legs around Asher and he holds me tightly to his body. We stay like this until it gets dark- the sun was already half set when he came to me so it wasn't that long, yet when he pulled away it felt too short.

"I never ever want to let you go," He tells me cupping my face and looking at me seriously.

I knew this was an after-effect from this morning so I tell him the first thought that came to my mind: "I never want you to let me go"

"DINNER'S READY!" Leah's voice breaks the cocoon we seemed to have wrapped ourselves in.

Asher curses under his breath pushing his head against mine, "I hate that woman" He tells me and I giggle in response. There was this odd tension between Leah and Asher that I never seemed to understand. Though they seemed to work out a way to still hang out but not argue all the time.

We sat at the table under the cabana for dinner, Leah and Asher sitting on far ends of the table. I sat next to Asher, Hunter and Leah were at the head of the table with Micheal and Mason opposite us. Michael had prepared a good spread of meat.

"The meet looks good Mike" Hunter compliments.

"Yeah, the whole spread looks good, thanks for preparing it guys," Asher says graciously.

"Yeah, mum, thank you," Mason says eagerly eyeing the roast vegetables.

There was a short pause and I realised I should be saying something too. Like, thank you or at least agree to what they were all saying. But if I said thank you now, it would have been too long a pause and it would seem like I did not mean what I was saying. If I agreed, it wouldn't be sincere enough. So I feel myself shrug back in defeat.

By this point, it was too late to show any form of gratitude cause they were already serving the food out. I bite my lower lip and feel my hand clench up.

"You want the rib or the burger?" Michael asks me jolting me from my reprimanding thoughts.

"Er, I'll have the rib." I say and quickly add, "Thank you" so I don't mess that part up as well.

I have noticed with these people that they tended to talk as they ate. They all seemed to gel well and knew what to say. After all, they did have a long history together and great rapport to finish. Even Mason seemed to find his place in the conversation. I found it hard to keep up- eating properly and talking. So I remained silent, pretending to listen. In reality, I wasn't listening. I was trying to make sure I was using the right utensils and eating without getting food out of my mouth. Also, I had to focus on not eating too slowly so they wouldn't have to wait for me or that they could see how badly I was eating. At that thought, I realised that they probably did still notice. I grip my fork harder and take a nervous glance around at all the other plates, they were almost done. I was still on a good pace, I'd finish before the last guy. All was good.
