YOONRA
I turned around and revealed the person. I was speechless.
"Oh my gawd--- Yoonra? Cha Yoonra?" She held my hands while blinking her eyes. "Is it real? Yoonra is that you?"
She couldn't believe in her own words so she asked a few more times. I chuckled to break the wall of awkwardness.
"Yeah," I paused, "long time no see, Park Eunji."
Why am I thinking of Jungkook just now? Rich people like him wouldn't come to these places like this. It's funny that I would expect Jungkook to be the one who was standing infront of me right now.
"Seems like you got rid of your pimples permanently?" She said, before smiling.
"Uh---um...yeah..." I stuttered.
There was pimples all over my face back then. I have acne prone skin, it made me look uglier. But now my skin was cleared up and nothing else left there.
I looked at the outline of Eunji. She is even prettier now. Curvy body, toned legs and pale skin.... she got all of them. I was really envied.
"And you....You got prettier now," I smiled.
"Really? Ah, thanks," she rubbed the back of her head.
Eunji is the most beautiful girl in our secondary school back then. She already looked pretty by the first sight. Everyone likes her, including the boys and teachers. While the nerds, like me, with a normal look by the outside, never gets any attention from anyone.
I almost forgot how did we met and got to know each other at the really first. Eunji and I met when I was in trouble.
/flashback/
I cursed under my breathe. What the hell. Out of everyone, why me? Because I'm a teacher's pet? Tch.
"Excuse me...."
"Excuse me...."
"EXCUSE ME------"
Well you know, I kinda know why I wasn't good at pleasing people because, I always shoo them off. Thanks to every teacher who asked me to carry loads of books for them without earning any 'shipping fees'.
A guy without his shirt tuck in was running.....TOWARDS ME. He seemed to be fooling around but who cares you better don't make the books commit suicide or else---
Shit.
I looked at the books fell on the floor, they were all scattered around, and the pages might be folded by this accident.
"Sorry, sorry, hehe...." the guy said and later on he left while slow jogging.
Oh please if you really felt sorry then you could have help me! Jeezzz.... I knelt down to collect the books to a stack. Everyone who passed by was looking at the pathetic me.
Suddenly someone in the crowd came over and helped me picked up the books. I turned my head to face the person, it was the most beautiful girl in school, Eunji.
"Actually you don't need to help---"
"It's okay," she smiled at me. I didn't know what's behind the smile but well, she helped me, I should be glad.
After all the books were picked up and collected in my embrace, the crowd slowly faded away. But there was some people who were secretly whispered about her.
"Look. Park Eunji is helping her!"
"She is so kind...."
"Yeah... I know right...."
/flashback ends/
Suddenly I thought I knew why she wanted to help me---
"Wanna have a drink?" She asked.
I hesitated for awhile and continued.
"Sure."
--
The cold breeze from the air conditioner chilled my heart. Although it may not be comparable with the natural wind from the outside but it's still good.
The warm air, however, is different. It smelt like coffee, mixed with a hint of chocolate muffins and cakes. The smell of everything circulated the whole coffee shop.
I took a sip of my caffe latte, trying my best not to make the sipping sound. The temperature was just right, not too hot nor cold; and the consistency was perfect. I totally loved it.
"Isn't it nice?" Eunji chuckled while looking at me enjoying the bervage so much.
"Yeah," I paused, "did you try the cake?"
Our eyes darted on the moist chocolate cake that we ordered just now. It looked so tempting already before I even taste it.
"I wonder...Let's try," she said, bringing up the fork and began to scrape a piece out of it.
Texture, good. Sweetness, alright. This cafe is awesome.
"By the way, how's your life now?" I started a topic.
"Umm...okay..I could say..?" She paused as she let the bolus of food gliding down her oesophagus. "You know, after high school, everything went harder and busier. Of course, life is full of hindrance, right?"
I nodded in agreement. When I was young I used to rant about my life, wishing myself could grow older. But right now I wish I can stay young forever, carefree and without worries.
"Recently I got a job, a very weird job that have to cope with problems of a rich families, where the illegitimate son has to fight the present mother...." I sighed heavily.
"But I thought---"
"Yes. It was a fake psychology job that earned a high amount of salary within a month. Funny right?" I said sarcastically.
"Better than nothing," she consoled.
"Come to think about it, why are you at here? From my information you're staying at Australia for your study. I suppose."
"I studied half way and came back for a main reason," she said nonchantly.
"What reason?" I questioned.
"Do you know Jeon Jungkook? Yeah, he is my childhood friend."
[A/N] hi, it's cole ;)
