*Phoenix POV*

I stood on my desk in the back of my class but no one seemed to notice, again. No matter what I do, no one ever notices me. I mean, we are in a class that makes no sense, like "hello" I'm standing on my desk, but obviously you don't care. By you, I mean everyone, my twin brother gets all the attention but me, no. Anyway, I'm still standing on the desk and the teacher is on her phone, like "wow Mrs. Hood best teacher ever".

So let me explain I am a 15-year-old girl who is basically a shadow, my name is Phoenix. I have pale skin, blue eyes (people say they look like the depths of the sea), and rainbow dyed hair, and just happen to be 5'2. Today, I decided to wear a white dress that goes to mid thigh, it's super cute and has lace at the ends, it's sleeveless so even better. So you would think people would see me, well, no. They see my twin brother, Peter. He is 15 as well and despite us being twins he is 6'2, has blonde hair, and is the life of a party.

"Ms. Tate, please take your seat."

"Yes, Mr. Clapp."

Mr. Clapp is our school principle, who just now noticed me after what, 20 minutes? That says so much about me. At least my only friend is a girl named Luck, she travels around in a wheelchair and can't walk. The only time I ever see her is outside this, pardon my French, 'hell hole'.

Anyway, after I leaped down from the desk, I walked straight out of the doorway of the classroom with my brother chasing after me. I hate this school and nothing helps. I'm constantly bullied because I'm different. Just because I can read Greek and sort through numbers easily, well only if they are in Roman numerals.

"Phoenix, please don't do this. You mean too much to me to drop out."

"It's too late, Peter. Go find you friends, maybe then you'll forget me, like everyone else. I'm done, goodbye Peter. If you need me I'll be with Luck."

I turned away quickly hoping my brother would come after me, but he just walked back into the classroom, and our worlds changed directions.

---3 weeks past---

I've lived with Luck for a bit. We never had been close until 4th grade when she showed up one day asking who I was. But to me that never made sense but Luck is the best friend ever like ever. But in school, it's different that an home. At home, I love to be adventurous and sing and play guitar. But I also love to do archery and make new styles with make-up. I was always obsessed with reading but I never really understood what people's big deal with school was. But anyway, we arrived at a substation and you could smell the moldy walls. The smooth jazz music and BOYS. Okay, I'm never one to try to involve myself but when out of Tennessee, I just keep seeing them and they see me.

"Luck, remind me where we are going."

"I'm taking you to a place that... well, may be able to help you in your department of abilities?"

"WHAT... no, you said..."

"I said that I can help you I never said how or when."

I huffed and was furious but whatever, I trust Luck somewhat. We stopped around Washington D.C. and took a break (did I mention we were in Tennessee before?). Just after a few minutes, a girl runs by with someone that looks like Luck but barely.

"Hey you, can I ask you something?" I ask, but she keeps running. Jeez, this town and they crazy people in it.
