*Alex POV*

I walked out of the Big House, hand in hand with Connor. I bit subconsciously at my lips as I thought. I thought about the prophecy and how we would need to prepare. I'd need to go back over the prophecy and look for clues and then plan out what we would do.

"Stop worrying, Alex. Everything will turn out fine," Connor said, giving my hand a gentle squeeze. I squeezed back as I let out a deep sigh.

"I know, I know. I just need to go back over the prophecy and do some quick planning."

"How are you going to plan when this quest could take us anywhere?"

"I could at least find out where our first destination should be."

"Well come on, I'll drop you off at your cabin and then I'll go to mine to pack my stuff up. I'll come back to your cabin and when I do, that means it's time to go find the others."

"Fine."

I let Connor lead me towards the cabins even though I could perfectly have gotten there myself. Once he dropped me off at my cabin, he gave me a quick hug before he departed. I hurried inside and found Annabeth sitting at a table. She looked up as I entered.

"Hey, Alex! Did you ever escape from the Stolls?"

I sighed as I proceeded to tell her all that had happened ever since I flew off on Blackjack. Annabeth listened to me and never interrupted once. When I was done she stood up and walked over to her bed. She pulled out a cute, gray backpack and held it out to me.

"Take this, it will be better than your duffel bag. Also, I used this on my last quest. Think of it as good luck. And here, take this." Annabeth said as she pulled something off her finger. It was a ring with an owl head on top, facing forward. She handed it to me, and I slid it on my finger right away.

"It's from mom. I want you to have it."

I smiled and enveloped Annabeth into a big hug.

"Thanks so much, Annabeth."

"No problem, Alex."

"You know my real name isn't Alex. It's Alexandra, but I go by Alex for short."

"Really. Alexandra is a beautiful name, but I like Alex more. It fits you."

"Thanks. Now I need to hurry and pack. I also need to do some planning before Connor picks me up."

"I'll get you some maps while you pack."

"Thanks," I said, as I walked over to my bunk and Annabeth walked over to the bookshelves. I opened up the gray backpack and wondered what to take with me. I threw in a baggie of ambrosia and nectar. That would come in handy. I put in a bottle of Tylenol as well. No pain was one less handicap while fighting a monster. I put in two water bottles because we can use the water for drinking and bathing. I made sure my dagger was strapped to my side before I found some rope to put in my bag as well. I put some extra clothes in and then duct tape because duct tape was an essential tool. I grabbed my pouch of golden drachmas and tossed it in. I grabbed my wallet that had $300 of mortal money that we could use to buy food and other supplies if we needed. One of the perks of having a dad who made a lot of money every day. Then I put my rolled up gray sleeping bag in -rolling it up as tight as I could- and sliding in a magical tent that would have multiple rooms on the inside but look like a normal sized tent from the outside. I also put a small pillow in there. Last, but not least, I put my ebook in so I could read at night or whenever I had time.
