(F/n) stood outside his little home with his bag slung over his shoulder. The sky was orange and pink as the rising sun peeked over the horizon. It was a beautiful morning, but his heart was torn.
Before him stood the two women he loved more than anything else in the world. Mirajane Strauss and Erza Scarlet.
At this time, as much as he hated to think about it, he had to make a choice. A choice that would shatter more than just his own heart.
"Please (F/n)," Erza begged. "We need to know."
She was right. These ladies had waited for long enough.
(F/n) took a deep breath, recomposing himself. "Alright," he said firmly. "Both of you close your eyes." He couldn't do this confidently with them both staring at him.
The girls shut their eyes and waited.
Mira stood nervously, listening to (F/n)'s footsteps on the stone path as he approached then stopped right in front of them. Everything was silent.
In all honesty, she had a feeling as to how this would turn out, but in her heart, she begged and pleaded that she was wrong. She prayed silently that (F/n) would choose her.
Then she felt (F/n) brush past. She didn't even have to look. She just knew, and her heart shattered.
Her knees buckled, and she wept in agony. She felt Erza kneel at her side.
The Fairy Queen wrapped her arms around her friend. Though her heart had soared when (F/n) had kissed her only moments ago, the feeling was bittersweet now.
She finally had (F/n) for herself, but her dear friend Mirajane was hurt in the process.
The two girls hugged each other tightly. "I'm so sorry Mira," Erza said painfully.
"Don't be," Mira replied. "Just take good care of him."

Magnolia was in chaos as the Battle of Fairy Tail raged through the town.
Natsu and Gajeel were in the Kardia Cathedral, engaged in a heated battle against the traitor, Laxus Dreyar. They were both surprised at how hard the fight was proving to be.
"I'd heard he was strong," Gajeel said between heavy breaths. "But I never imagined he'd be this tough to beat."
"We'll have to give him everything we've got!" Natsu replied with determination.
The Dragon Slayers prepared to launch another assault when the Cathedral doors burst open.
"LAXUS!!!!!!!!" came the furious call.
Natsu and Gajeel turned and scowled in response at the sight of the Dark Dragon Paladin, (F/n) Dreyar.
"Gahh!! Not this guy!" Natsu exclaimed in frustration.
Laxus put on a sick and twisted grin. "Welcome back Cousin! I hope your latest mission went well!" he said mockingly.
"YOU FOOL!!" (F/n) roared.
Laxus raised an eyebrow coolly. "Oh? Is something the matter (F/n)?"
"SILENCE!!!!" (F/n) ordered. Laxus scowled in annoyance but fell quiet.
(F/n) lowered his voice and spoke through gritted teeth. "I've been gone for weeks. I come home hoping for a little relaxation and some time with Erza," his voice began to raise in volume again. "And the first thing I find out when I get back is that the town is in chaos, Fairy Tail is being manipulated into a civil war, my dear uncle is on his death bed, AND IT'S ALL! YOUR! FAULT!! YOU EGOTISTICAL BASTARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
