Day 10

(Lukas' POV)

An explosion.

Screams.

And then silence.

I opened my eyes. I was alive. The shadow had disappeared. I looked around me. The bodies of my friends were all lying there, still. I stood up. Surely they weren't all...? No! They couldn't be! I couldn't have lost everyone, just like that! I heard the sound of someone waking up and groaning. I sharply turned my head. Stampy was awake. He was okay. It was only then that made me question: How are we the only people to have woken up?

He stared at me questioningly with wide eyes. He gave me a look that said, "What's going on?" He looked around the scene. His eyes grew wider. We didn't talk to each other. I could hardly hear anything. Nobody else was moving. 

Not Petra.
Not Jesse.
Not Olivia.
Not Axel.
Not Ivor.
Not anyone.
Not
Y/n.

Her lifeless body was lying there. I couldn't do anything about it. She didn't do anything. "Y/n. Are you there?" I asked. No answer. What did I expect? I was in too much shock to cry. I heard someone stir. Nell was waking up. "What... just happened?" she asked. "A better question is: why are we the only ones awake?" Stampy said thoughtfully. I thought to myself quietly. 

The shape-shifter... it took my form. What if it also took Stampy's form and Nell's form, and that's why we're awake? Why we're apparently immune? Is it's power really that confusing? Well, one thing's for sure. I won't avenge everyone else by just thinking.

And I said this to the other two. They agreed. It, of course, would make sense, but what does that mean?

Nell and Stampy had a long conversation about this while I thought. Whenever I came up with a good thought, I explained it to them. They didn't always agree, but when they did, we got one step closer to this mystery.
