CJ

Lukas' POV

"HEY! We are not going to just let you walk out of here. For all we know, you could be a serial killer trying to get out and kill everyone," Harper said. "I wouldn't do that. I can tell you guys are too smart to let me do that, even if I wanted to. First things first, I'm CJ. You guys are?" the albino asked. "I'm Lukas. This is Harper, Olivia, and Y/n," I responded. CJ greeted Harper, Y/n, Olivia, and I with handshakes. "So, first, I need to take you to the boss. He says that all newcomers are supposed to be taken there. Because in the daytime, we stay up here in case newcomers arrive and don't see what's underneath, where we work at night. In fact, I shouldn't have told you all this. If he ever finds out, I'll never be allowed aboveground again! Please don't tell him I said anything!" CJ panicked. 

"Wow. That bad?" I asked. "YES! THAT BAD! We have to go to him now, just act like I didn't say anything except who I am," CJ responded. He started walking towards a large, castle-like building in the middle of the city. CJ tried his best to look calm. We walked inside. We put on confused faces. CJ said to the throne in the front of the room, "M'lord. I have newcomers." he bowed. We copied him. "They sound lovely. But CJ, may I talk to you?" the supposed "king" of this world asked. 

CJ's POV

King Pix wanted to speak to me. Oh boy. I walked up to him slowly. "Yes, M'lord?" I asked. "What have you told them?" he whispered in my ear. "N-Nothing, sir! Just my name. And that I had to introduce them to you," I lied. I wanted to protect these people if they could get me out. "Good. Because you know, if you told them what goes on here, you would be tortured underground. For the rest of your pathetic. Little. Life," King Pix glared me down. I stood there and shuddered fro a moment. 

"O-Of course," I asnwered nervously. "Take the newcomers underground," King Pix boomed in his normal voice. I did as he told me. The king would of course assume that a miserable, bow-tie wearing, teary person like me could betray him, so I have constant guards looking over me. Man how I hate him. Hopefully these guys will be able to get me out...

Your POV

We followed CJ underground. The nervous albino man took us to the dungeons. "Welcome to... home... where we lay in despair and work until we can't work anymore. And of course, we have our homes aboveground, but we only live there during the day. In the day we're allowed to do pretty much villager stuff. Farm. Trade. We can even sleep during the day. But at night, we work down here. We can't sleep until the sun rises. When we escape, it'll be a glorious day, will it not?" CJ asked us. "Wow... that sounds... awful. Why hasn't anyone tried to stop him?" Olivia asked. CJ looked at her, his eyes watery as always. He stared into her eyes for a few seconds. "If anyone tries to defy him, he will personally torture them until they die. He... he killed his own sister. We were all forced to watch him kill her slowly over the course of 5 days," CJ looked broken. He started to properly cry. "His own sister? What kind of psychopath is this guy?!" Harper asked. "A dedicated one. That's what kind," I said. "This is why you guys need to help me. King Pix already suspects me and will likely put me under torture. Nobody else is stupid enough to even think about betraying him... only me," the albino said slowly. "CJ, you're not stupid. You're brave. That's amazing. And if you're the only person brave enough to stand up to this tyrant, that's even better," Olivia said, hugging on to CJ. He started to cry again.

"Thank you. So... does this mean you'll help me?"

"Of course we will, CJ. We'll take you out of this terrible place and you'll finally be free," I said.

We then hear footsteps. "Ey, Shorty! It's sundown! Get those newcomers working!" A guard growled. "Right away!" CJ said obediently. I glared at the guard. "This is all too familiar," Lukas said sadly. I caught myself looking at Harper as he said this. "I'll admit it... it does seem like him, doesn't it?" "Like who?" CJ asked. "He's just too much like Hadrian," Olivia said. It struck me like a bolt of lightning how true that was. I'd never met Hadrian. But I felt like I already knew all about him. And that Pix had something to do with him.
