Time

Your POV

Payton left CJ and I alone for a while. I stayed to make sure he was doing okay. Every once in a while, he would cough up little flower petals, still stained with his blood. Payton and Georgia had told us more about this "Hanahaki Disease". It apparently wasn't supposed to be real. But it somehow was. And what we got from it was that there were 3 ways it could go down. 

1. CJ could get the flowers surgically removed, but the feelings are removed as well
2. CJ would die from suffocation
or

the preferred option
3. Olivia could fall in love with CJ

But I had a feeling that wouldn't happen anytime soon. Of course, he didn't want to give up his love. I could feel that. And I'm sure he most definitely wouldn't want to die. I sighed. CJ sat up. "Hey, y/n?" "Hmm?" "So, you and Lukas are a thing, right?" he asked. "Oh, yeah. Why?" "Nothing... I just felt like, ya know, with all these love problems, I just felt like I should know," he answered. I shrugged. "That's cool," I said back. "Y/n... what's going to happen to me?" CJ asked after a long silence. I didn't answer for a while. "I don't know, CJ," I replied after a while.

Lukas' POV

While Y/n and Payton were keeping CJ company, Georgia showed the rest of us around. "You guys might wanna lose the armor. You stand out too much, you'll get stares," she had said earlier. So we were now dressed in our normal outfits, walking around. One kid walked up to me and shouted, "I love your jacket!" Then his mother came over, picked him up, and apologized to me. "Wow. Really unique world, isn't it?" Ivor asked. "You bet it is," Georgia replied, her tail swishing slowly. She stopped.

"What is it?" Axel asked. "We have to go to the hospital. CJ doesn't have much time left. LET'S GO!" she shouted, turned around, and ran, the rest of us close behind her.

When we got there, the doctor used an x-ray to see the inside of CJ's lungs. They were almost completely filled with flower petals. He was unconscious, yet he was breathing heavily, every few breaths entire flowers came up. "Come on, CJ!" "Don't go!" "Stay with us!" None of them seemed to work. Olivia spoke up. "CJ. If you die here, at least die knowing that I love you!" My eyes widened. The feeling was mutual. I glanced at the x-ray. Each of the flowers quickly withered up and turned to dust. CJ coughed up the remains and he woke up.

"OLIVIA! You saved him!" I gasped, hugging her. "Olivia, you mean it?" CJ asked. "Yes. Of course," Olivia said, and squeezed CJ tightly. For the first time, I saw him smile widely. "Wow," I said. "True love is amazing, right?" Lukas whispered. He found my hand and held it. "Yeah. It is," I answered.

-Later-

"You guys can stay here for a while, if you want," Payton said. Jesse looked happy "I think we should. All in favor of staying, say 'CJ'!" "CJ!" We all shouted. "It's unanimous, then. We're staying." "Great!" Georgia shouted. "GROUP HUG!" Payton shouted. "Oh God," Georgia said and tried to run away,  but Payton caught us all in a hug.

"So, y/n..." Lukas started a while after we found out where we were staying. "Yeah?" I asked. "So... I was going to do this when we got home, but..." "But what?"

"I can't wait that long, you know."

"You're way too impatient, Lukas. What do you want?"

Lukas took a deep breath and got on one knee. I gasped. "I want to stay with you forever. I want to know every day that you'll be by my side. I want you to make me the happiest adventurer in the world. Every world. Y/n, will you marry me?" he asked. I hugged him tightly and said sarcastically, "No. I won't marry you. Because there's no way in the world I feel the same way about you." Lukas just laughed and kissed me.
