A/N I don't have any more equationy chapter names saved up and I can't be bothered to think up more.

I guess things can get better. Definitely for Gus. Now I understand why he had been so upset. He wouldn't want it to happen again.
Now I was thinking about the pictures I'd seen if this person that I now knew to be called Elliot. I could see the resemblance now. Gus and Elliot both had the black hair and the 'Fraser family perfect jawline'. Gus looked more muscular than Elliot and Elliot had glasses which Gus does not. They were so similar yet entirely different at the same time. In the later pictures of the two of them, Elliot looked just a tiny bit like his smile was covering an endless flow of sadness. He was clearly very good at covering the sadness though.
That story surprised me. I never thought of Gus in any way other to how he is now. I never thought of the fact that he has bad days, he cries, and that Hafi has to cradle him to comfort him. He does though. And I don't have a problem with that. I also find it slightly cute in a way that he always makes sure she's alive when he wakes up. I know it's because he's almost paranoid about losing anyone, but it shows that he cares a lot about her. I wish I had someone like that.
I thought about getting up when I heard Hafi on the phone again.
"I think he's feeling better now."
Me again?
"I really think I should bring him home. He's had some adventures but you need to tell him what's happening."
I think they're talking about me.
"That's a big change and I think he'd feel upset finding out after everyone else."
Finding out what?
"Of course he can stay with me and Gus but listen to me. No listen Ca-"
My mum?
"Just think about it. Ok? How would you like to feel like all your family is hiding something that important from you?"
Hiding what?
"Fine. Bye then."
"Hafi, who were you just on the phone to?"
"Your mother."
"What was she saying?"
"I'm afraid I can't tell you. You'll find out soon enough because we're going home soon."
"I'm enjoying our adventure though."
"You won't have to go to school for the rest of the week though."
"Nice."
"And you're staying with me and Gus."
"YES!"
"Are you sure you have to leave so soon?"
"I'm afraid we do. It was so good to see you though."
"Yeah. Do come back another time won't you?"
"I think we'd love to."
Why do people take so long to say goodbye. I mean, I don't exactly want to leave but I also feel incredibly awkward just standing here.
"Oh. Erm. Tom!"
"Yes?"
"This is for you,"
Tirion handed me a couple of little books tied together tightly with a very old looking rubber band.
