i thought back to the years
i'd spent with my group of
friends and realized that i'd
never been as close to them
as we were when engaging in
reckless activities and drinking
ourselves delirious.
i'd never been very close at all
with these people until
i'd started living a life full
of adrenaline and angry
adults lurking around every
corner.
but none of us had ever had
more demons, either.
