CHAPTER 15

Jennifer and the Southmier's were giving Shandra many choices.

Jennifer Taylor was above all very efficient at getting her way, and at getting things done. She just had that knack for fixing things.

Her son Justin and the later born Molly, would never know that in New York, New York, they had a half brother named Shayden Craig James, who'd been adopted by Jennifer's barren first cousin, Cara Southmier.

Cara and her husband James Southmier an older couple in their late 40's had been trying for several years to have children.

After almost 8 failed In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedures, they had all but given up hope at ever having their own children.

And, due to their latter age, the State wasn't too keen on letting older couples adopt newborns.

Older children yes, newborns, not usually.

So that mid-morning call from her wealthy cousin Jennifer Taylor, had put both Cara and James over the moon, and had them scrambling to make several emergency phone calls of their own.

They themselves were not poor by any means, and the more than generous deposit of that check added monies via the Taylor's now sitting in a separate bank account waiting for Shandra and Shayden, was like icing on the whole adoption package.
