Chapter 10: Remembered

Hayes's POV

I sat on the couch in my house holding Ember in my arms. I kept looking at her left arm which looked normal, but it wasn't real. They are good here. I kissed her cheek and went down to her neck only to hear her giggle. I smiled and looked up. She looked at me with a little sadness in her eyes. "Hayes... how did you find my dad and Ming?" My breath hitched in my throat. "Uh it's kinda a long story. Do you really wanna know it gets intense?" She looked up at me. She barely whispered. "Yes..." I took a breath in.

Narrator's POV
The group has been traveling for a while now. Looking and searching for Ember. Along the way they came across some troubles. Scott had been looking for his girlfriend Laura Dyer. Only he did find her just not alive... She walked up towards the group, well limped towards them. She lunged for Scott and at this point Scott was crying. "No Laura no..." he cried out pushing her back. She growled and jumped towards him but went limp. Scott pulled the knife out of her head and held her body whispering he loves her and he's sorry. We buried her and kept moving.

Hayes's POV

"Wait so Scott found his girlfriend but dead?" "Yes, now let me finish." I told her chuckling.

Flashback Continued

4 months have passed. We are almost out of food, water, everything. We had found a warehouse which seemed occupied by someone. Clothes, food, weapons, beds. Hayes stepped forwarded and spoke. "Hello? Is anyone in here?" He heard a shot gun load up. "What do y'all want?" At this moment Adrien pushed his way to the front. "Please. We are just looking for my sister and a place to stay." "Adrien? Is that you?" Adrien froze and looked closer. "Norman? Mingus? Is that you?" He lowered the gun and walked up to us. "Where's my daughter, Adrien! Where is she!?" Hayes stepped forward. "Sir. I'm Hayes Jackson and I'm your daughter's girlfriend. We lost her. She ran saving us. But she's alive." Norman stepped forwarded and hugged Hayes. "Let's go find my daughter."

Hayes's POV

"We found him not long before we found you Ember. He went crazy looking for you. I promised him I'd find you and I did." I kissed her with passion and she smiled. "Thank you for finding them. I missed them and you." As we sat there holding each other and laughing we slowly asleep. Nothing could possibly go wrong... or so we thought.
